Re: Payload C 180

I found a weight and balance report from a 1955 C180 on edo2870's that I weighed 3 yrs ago. Empty weight was 1965 lbs.
From the type certificate: max weight on edo2870 floats is 2820. Fuel capacity:60 gallons total. Hope this helps.

Re: Payload C 180

Empty weight around 1800lbs and up. Gross weight is 2820. 3 passengers and full fuel is no problem under most circumstances. If you are taking off from a small lake at 4700 ft asl at +30C in a narrowish dead end canyon with light winds coming from the dead end of the the canyon, then you might want...

Re: FTU - OC

To the original poster, here's some food for thought while trying to wade through the bureaucracy of the whole aoc thing and your original question. You have an ftu-oc. You can do flight training and sight seeing. TC gives you the oc and you do business as usual. CTA doesn't care about you. You have...

Re: FTU - OC

You need to call tc. They will tell you that it is aerial work. Aerial work requires a 702 oc. The fines for doing aerial work without a 702 oc can be very expensive. It's pretty easy to justify doing just about anything but the bottom line is if your wrong and you get caught doing 702 work with a f...

Re: FTU - OC

An FTU can only do flight training and sight seeing. Aerial advertising/patrol, (not sure what you mean by patrol, but as long as there are no passengers), requires a 702 operating certificate. This is issued by Transport Canada. CTA has nothing to do with FTU's or 702 operators.

Re: LaRonge and the USAF U2

Here's what I read: 15 March 1960 - Captain Roger Cooper landed his U-2 on frozen Wapawekka lake in Saskatchewan after suffering an electrical failure. He was flying U2 tail # 66717 at the time on an Operation Crowflight. The U-2 was still a Top Secret aircraft at the time of this incident - althoug...

Re: What ever happened to Bob Diemert

I saw some pictures on the Avcanada photo page of Diermerts planes from the 70's and was wondering whatever happened to him and his collection. Anybody know? zeros We took a tour of both Diemerts place and one of the Blayd corporation in the early 90's. While at Diemerts we were not supposed to tal...

Aeroweather was great. Traded off the iphone for a Motorola Atrix (anrdoid) and Aeroweather doesn't have an android app. :(

Re: Future AME Discouraged

As stated, an M1/M2 encompasses all the licensing scenarios. But here's the thing. If you work for an AMO with a (example) structures rating, you can only hold an ACA for structures if you have the required experience.
