Re: Air Canada Pool
My understanding is that the hiring pool has no specific order to which the company must hire; they will cherry pick who they want during the selection process for start dates. The pool has varying levels of pilot experience and with the heavy jet time requirement for new hires at the rouge 767 oper...

Re: IAM trying to get Sky Reginal/Rouge
So let me get this straight. The IAM, the union that extended its strike warning in 2012. Extended it just long enough to help the company and the government collude to throw ACPA in with the IAM on back to work legislation. Remember ACPA never struck. This difference was completely lost once lumpe...

Re: CanJet Vacations gets the nod.
All the best CJrs...lots of good folks there. But don't kid yourself. Margins are so tight in this market and profits are only generated based on volume and lots of it. So unless CJ has big plans to add lots more lift then I have to say this is a bunch of hogwash. It looks an awful lot like what CJ ...

Re: Tough week for Air Canada compared to Westjet
First Westjet has their youtube hit, then the news is reporting how two of their flight attendants saved somebody's life with an AED, a few lines down the only news Air Canada has for the week is one of their planes caught fire  Yikes.. How old are you? Boners like you are the reason why I h...

Haven't frequented this forum in sometime. CanJet 757's? Doubt that. They are a good NG operator but I don't think they would know the first thing about operating overseas. Hope they stay 737NG only.

Industrialized countries, multi-national firms, private and public companies profit millions from disasters like this. Consider the millions that continue to made by companies from the USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany (the list goes on) from post invasion Iraq. Engineering firms, construction, secur...

Re: Air Transat Fleet
A321 does not have the legs we need. The Canjet contract has a 30 day cancellation clause in it just like the Westjet contract had. The word at Air Transat is Transat AT has recently cancelled 60000 seats with Canjet. The wonderful world of vacation Travel. I have to disagree with your theory of a 3...

Re: Pass travel footwear
Guys, seriously, what is wrong with your airline (AC). I dread having to travel them when I come home, I started buying tickets on Westjet to avoid being treated like a piece of crap. How can you employees deal with it day in a day out. It drives me nuts and I only do it a few times a year. I feel ...

Re: Pass travel footwear
Overall, I think that most of us follow the dress code well, and put up with some of it's dated restrictions. But women not being permitted to wear open toed shoes or sandals unless they have a heel strap...That's old!! Jesus wore sandals, they were good enough for Him and I doubt he painted his toes.

Re: CanJet Making Its Mark
Ah lovely just as I thought. So lets see here, you left Canjet #2, or 3 (many of us lost count now) because the operation was so fragmented (crappy) that you had to suck up a 50% paycut and work at AC. Nice to see experience served you well at Canjet. So now that you are looking back (or inward aga...

Re: CanJet Making Its Mark
Typical inward thinking Canjetter in my opinion. If you take the binders off you will see there is a subtle hit at all the YYC and YYZ pilots that ARE making 85k a year in that post. And if CJ was so good then what prompted the move to go make 36k/year at AC? Canjet 1,2,3,4,?,? Call it want you wan...

Re: CanJet Making Its Mark
You guys are amusing. I used to work there, and I am now at AC since 2007. The conditions at CJ are good; pilots are happy and enjoy going to work. Not everyone needs to work for WJ or AC to enjoy a quality of life. $85K to start may not be the salary that you might want to expect to skipper an NG, ...

Canjet is the best company I've ever worked for.........I'd be happy to retire with them. This is a place where u r known by name, not a number.........and they treat u very well.
