Re: RCAF reserve as a second job
Even CIC seems to be a problem to get in to. My brother in law started volunteering with a local air cadet sqn a couple years ago, ahead of his daughter's 12 birthday, when she planned to join. He was an air cadet growing up and joined the CIC (then called the CIL), and was in for 8 years. (As an as...

Wasn't Porter planning to buy CSeries or something if they got approval (which was denied) for jets at YTZ?

Didn't both Fedex and UPS order A380-F's early on, and then cancel them as the inevitable delays came along?

Re: Difference between schools and its prices
My son is starting his private. Looked into a few different schools around the area. One never answered the phone the several times I called to book him an intro flight. Mail box full so no option to leave a message. I work nearby, so stopped in a couple times, no one ever there. Place looked like h...

From the article With travel increasing between Europe and Canada, Dimanche said he believes direct flights could be successful if passengers are willing to drive to secondary airports. That will require clear communication for European travellers who may not have heard about the airport almost 100 ...

This is Canada. We can't have nice things. Hell, Chretien wouldn't even fly in that plane out of appearances. And then they put a nice paint job on it and people whined again.

Re: Plane registered to Roy Halladay crashes in Gulf off Florida
Looks like he was going kinda fast for touch and goes. This is what a lot of money and no experience ends up like sometimes. The news mentioned today that his father was a career pilot. Sad outcome anyway. I edited the post above with the link to the promo video Icon had put out last month after he...

Strange that this thread popped up today. My son was asking me this morning about his great grandfather. Said that he could do some research through the National Archives but that he didn't have all the info on them to start. Fortunately the grandfather is still with us and might have some info on h...

Re: Troy Gentry dies in helicopter accident
Who's Troy Gentry? Buffalo used car dealer? Never heard of him. Big guy in cncpc's world? He was half of the country duo Montgomery Gentry. Eddie Montgomery I would say was the lead singer of the 2 of them. They were pretty popular in country music 15 years ago, not as big the last little while. My...

Re: Just the wing tip
This was on the Teamsters Facebook page last night. Tonight, two planes being towed (pushed back) by Swissport managers clipped wings at Pearson. After forcing its 700 workers to go on strike, the company has been trying to operate at Canada's busiest airport using scabs and incompetent managers. Sh...

SXM Maho Beach Goer Throws Ball At Plane.
https://www.trymodern.com/article/2391/st-maarten-beach-goer-throws-ball-at-incoming-aircraft Stupid thing to do. But I also have to wonder how high a 767 would be at that point, and would an average beach goer be able to throw a ball that high, standing over waist deep in water. I think the angle o...

Thanks for the constructive feedback. You are correct it has to do with the company one works at and what one is exposed to. I haven't flown in Canada for decades - I had no idea how things worked at WJ. All I know is that my friends who fly widebody/longhaul at AC as Captains all had at least a de...

The internet really does take the person out of the communication - I am pretty sure if you or the mod that posted the original repl...

Back in the fun days of the 70's, when I was 9 years old, the first officer of an AC DC-9 from Fredericton to Toronto let me sit in his seat for a few minutes. We made a slow left turn, and you couldn't convince me that I wasn't the one doing it lol.

Confirmed orders are always announced, so why not this one... Good news but more information is required. There is a pic of a Deamliner o...
