Re: AME Licence Suspended for 14 Months
It is quite common for commercially available parts to be used in an aircraft but it is only legal to do so once they have been inspected and approved by the manufacturer or an appropriately rated AMO. The one that I love the best is Piper Part number 754-817. It is a filter for the manifold pressur...

Re: Maintenance (PRM)
I think one of the things that may be misunderstood here is that there is, in fact, essentially two different types of PRM. One is the operational PRM, which is what I believe is being discussed here, and the other is the PRM for and AMO which was once upon a time called the Director of Maintenance....

There may be hope on the horizon. Bill C-55 passed Royal Assent on Nov 25, 2005. This is the new bankruptcy and wage earners protection bill. I don't think it will help if you got stiffed before Nov 25 and it doesn't come into full effect until June 30, 2006 but it is a step in the right dirrection....

Another AK venture the money and brains? behind the operation. Note: this is the guy that just about drove Alta Flights out of business buy hooking them up with the bag run and Quickair (the jetstreams are ex Alta Flights/Quickair machines). I wonder about Quick Pass as they offer an unlimited amoun...

If you have the place and a good relationship with a mechanic. Disassemble it yourself and have a good automobile or industrial paint shop spray it. This is not entirly the worst idea in the world. One of the best paint jobs I've ever seen was done by a automotive painter. Having said that don't ta...

Sad, but true in canucka bux. Should have improved some by now. It seems as though they pay about 60-75% what the going rate is every where else which is too bad because they are pretty decent to work for.

I worked for these guys for about a year in Moncton and leaving was the worst mistake I ever made. When I was there (2001-02) it was very cheap to live in Moncton. Yes, their wages are low but you can still live well on what they pay in the Maritimes. Bill Davidson, The DOM, is an excellent individu...
