Re: Laser EYES

Had Lasik done in 99. It's good to see life once again! I was -3.5/-3.75 with some astigmatism. After having done a few flights and skydives at night, I can now safely say this eye surgery went alright ;) Choose a surgeon with a strong eye-surgery background. Mine had over 13k eyes done prior to get...

Re: Laser Eye Surgery

I had Lasik surgery in 2000 from a doctor who had performed this before more than 13k times. He lifted a portion of the cornea, then sent the laser to 'permanently' correct my vision. At that point in history, they were merely waiting a single day to operate the second eye, as the success rate was p...

Re: VFR over the top for sea planes?

And I am not convinced that the amazing advances in technology in aircraft has made any real difference in the ability of pilots to make sound decisions when flying them. Of course some folks might be tempted to push on weather more since they got that handheld GPS. Which is, I agree, not an advanc...

Re: VFR over the top for sea planes?

Flying is a learning experience from our first flight to our last flight and reading all these opinions is a learning experience. By the way would what I think really be of value to you? Well put, and that was my reason for asking. I for myself consider mixing up opinions from experienced workers (...

Re: VFR over the top for sea planes?

You wanna be gliding distance from water - or ground, if engine failure. It's definitely safe and should be legal to VFR OTT where you got a broken ceiling in which you can pick spots on the water/ground for landing in case of need (engine failure). My opinion is, that's a solid and safe scenario. K...

Re: Qualif Multimoteurs

Re: Regulations/Standards on Parachutes

If kept in the container, it has to be opened, vented, once in a while (more often the better), and repacked My parachute rigger tells me that the more often you repack a chute, the faster you wear it out. Especially with the new 180 day rule in the USA, we just repack our emergency chutes once in ...

Re: Regulations/Standards on Parachutes

So my chute is no longer serviceable even though it has been in a warm dry environment and never opened since new? In other words it has no value now? It certainly still has some value, as far as emergencies goes. I personally have never found any trace of legal requirements for Emergency Chutes in...

Re: Qualif Multimoteurs
