Re: Where were you on September 11th 2001?

I was snoozin. My mom woke me up and told me to watch teh news. Watched the second hit sitting in bead in my undies in utter disbelief. Then I had to go to work at the Transwest desk in YVC. Telling people that they couldn't fly to Wallaston because of terrorist attacks in the US. I had angry people...

Re: Abbotsford Airshow 2009 Disappointment

The Saskatoon airshow is this coming weekend and I was feeling very bad about missing it as it is supposedly the last one they are hosting. Then I read through all the comments about rude volunteers and a large mass of stupid people who wont respect what they are there to see and I'm almost glad I'l...

Re: Air Canada Ordered to Pay Dr. For Mid-Air Consult

If it was not life and death and it was basically a medical nuisance call I think the Dr. deserves some compensation for his work. At the very least refund the $ for his ticket. I agree with this. If it was life or death the doc should have done everything for nothing. That being said, AC still sho...

Why are they not charged with endangering crew and TERRORISM?? Goes to show that Harper is all hot air and bs. The real terrorists walk free in Canada. The only people they arrest are for the kangaroo court show trials. I agree with the "kangaroo court" statement but this is not terrorism. Attempte...

NY to put a "trash transfer depot" at end of runway

http://www.justnews.com/travelgetaways/19564112/detail.html About 700 yards from the end of a LaGuardia Airport runway, where thousands of planes take off and land, New York officials want to build what could be the equivalent of a bird magnet: a very large garbage transfer station. The plan comes j...

Airman spots fuel leak

http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123149266 5/14/2009 - KADENA AIR BASE, Japan (AFNS) -- Most of us hear stories of Airmen saving lives in combat, but an Airman who saves the lives of more than 300 passengers is definitely a story worth hearing. A fuel leak on a civilian aircraft caught the attent...

Even if the 406 gets pushed through I may pick up a SPOT system, $100/year is some really cheap insurance when you think about it!

Good point Headly, I'll keep the skin, tin, ticket idea around should I ever need it. Sounds like the pilot saw the strip and figuered he could make it, no better place to save your skin than landing the tin on a strip.

I have been reading the updates to his blog regarding this incident and I find it interesting that he feels this is only one jackass in a field mostly filled by good people. I'm not sure if I agree with him on that but props to him for being able to approach it that way. Personally I'm still skeptic...

"People in wheelchairs can't have luggage" says security

http://davehingsburger.blogspot.com/2009/03/elephant-disappears.html I was waiting patiently in the airport, quietly watching people go by. My luggage was stacked up next to me and I felt that I looked like quite the world traveler. Suddenly this illusion was shattered when a security type guy came ...

But, I feel like it degrades the real pilots too. If a person regardless of their age can earn a pilots license then they are a "real pilot". period. So you call System Safety at Transport Canada, and the very professional civil aviation safety inspector listens to you carefully... Very good stuff. I found this q...

If it is a major concern for you (as it seems to be) I would contact the Airport manager and talk to him/her about it. If it was my airport I would be glad to have a discussion regarding your needs as a client and how I could better assist you. All airports should have a winter maintenance plan that...

False! I am more of a salariat, however if you delve deeper into the definition I may in fact be considered a proletariat. So I'll go with a definite maybe! :?

TPBM also had to look up proletariat, gave up 1/2 way through the wiki article and waited for some one else to post.
