Re: Changes to Pass Travel
Oh boy...on a tight Flt, everybody lined up with their C1, all to get on in the same order sitting at the back, paying more than they should if there was a spot. Now at least the commuters costs will go down, not their blood px as getting on is still a test. Don't think it will end the dress-up game...

Re: Rouge
I think your right, relatively low times and cycles, Pratt powered. Checked some stats for those interested, high timers have > 100,000 hrs with avg flt 5 hours. My memory appears to be ok as the latest 767 acquired new were brought into the fleet in 2001 and presently have an avg of 50-60K hours av...

Re: Rouge
The last 67's in the fleet entered service in the fall of 2001 I believe. Fins 658-661. I worked with Boeing on the last of their pre service mods in Wichita (659-661). I say believe because its been awhile. As for hours, we have retired aircraft because of their hours, 80000 isn't a big deal, it's ...

Re: Rumors of AME licensing change?
Going forward a combo licence more likely will be the E and M2 .The requirement is being driven more by the machine. The dividing lines as in the past will likely be required as new aircraft enter the marketplace. Remember the m9. ?, just as sure as they change it, they'll change it again.

Re: AME shortage?
Based on the West Coast ; with respect to my last post; I find it's just too easy to slip into a spiral when there's polarity in opinions and I've been as guilty as anyone in the past. I know I have to work at being a bit more positive when On-Line and resist the notion that I'm (almost always) righ...

I know of Poster FF from another forum and I may have even worked with him in the past, then again maybe I haven't but he has made many solid posts on a variety of topics.
Respect? There's a shortage!
It's too bad so many posts spiral into personnel attacks.
Good people are hard to find period.

Re: Another plane crash near Brenda Mine west of Kelowna
Risk tolerance...everyone has their own limit, judgement and skill to consider. Why all the negativity? I'll guess many have strayed into the uncomfortable zone and lived to know better in the future and there's also the possibility to not learn anything for the next time as well. The more I fly the...

Re: AME shortage?
Aveos was a sham; those that chose to stay in many cases didn't have a choice. The amount of expertise that was thrown out is beyond comprehension. It was the only facility(west coast), I believe in NA that Boeing (other than themselves) had deemed capable to perform 767 pylon ad repairs. A good cre...

Re: AME shortage?
Yeah the Aveos guys are useless, that's why Major airlines come looking. In most cases, it's the skill set that doesn't match the situation. Those that have some time have a few choices. It's been awhile but we could change a 737 PP in 1.5 hrs. from pulling into the hangar to engine start. TCAS if y...

Re: 450 smoh in 15 years
Last one cost me 5K with new mags but...you right it could go much much higher. That's why the unknowns often tip the decision to fold on a project and that's why there's plenty of carcasses out there.

Re: 450 smoh in 15 years
It can go either way; you may as IFFP suggests get away lucky. With a low time engine I'd take the conservative approach myself and have it torn down. If there's nothing wrong, you'll pay for bearings, rings, hardware and let the time continue. If there's more wrong then you won't mind paying for it...

Re: 450 smoh in 15 years
You know, you just don't know and that's why you'll have to pull a cylinder and take a look inside to have an idea. If you really concerned have it pulled apart, inspected, repaired if required and continue the time.

Re: Air Canada sending Embraer 175/190s to Express
Even now people like C170B53 would blame it all on management rather than admit that unions are the reason that that much middle management is required to administer the many rules that exist (Sorry Rockie :D I'm just aspiring to gain the same notoriety as you seem to have been blessed with).
