Apprentice experience
Hey everyone, Ive been looking around in the CAR's but can't seem to find a straight yes or no answer for this. Does it have to be a Canadian registered aircraft to count towards totally time as an apprentice and go to into the logbook for tasks done? I seem to remember in school a teacher saying th...

Re: Braking vs. Reverse Thrust
So far it seems like brakes are winning out in this and i'm not really gonna go either way all i know is that our pilots use reverse depending on the situation. such as if your landing on a gravel strip with a caravan, try to use the brakes so you don't eat the prop apart while if your landing on pa...

Re: Buffalo Airways Info
Not sure on rampie time but the cost of living up here is fairly high, your looking 1200 for a 1 bedroom and 1400 for a 2 bedroom apartment, prolly about 650-900 to rent a room. pros for that company is that u get to work with alot of older stuff but the con is that ive heard old Joe has a few screw...

Re: Cessna 172 M maintenance/operating costs
Depends on how the aircraft was stored (hanger, outside, etc) and if the engine was store properly (inhibiting oil, moisture plugs, etc). that can make a big difference on a plane sitting for a few years

Re: Blade Latches C208 Float Plane
Only thing i really know to say (not being a pilot but seeing what some pilots have done) is that if your not comfortable docking the aircraft using reverse like the other guys then don't use it. we had one pilot who liked to try and we pulled the plane out of the drink just about every other week.

Re: C208B weeping wing
Its only been questionable because pilots have been ignoring the differences between De-Ice and Anti-Ice. The problem has been that once they get their 20 lbs of ice on each wing they turn it all on. All the TKS does is reduce the useable load and useable space for load as well as coating the entire...

Re: Cracked Seat Rail on a 150
Ive found the seat rails on the 185's crack all the time but what surprised me was that the wear of the seat pin holes is what usually scraps the rail and not the cracks. I know its not a 150 but we all know that when cessna has a thought they go with it for all models from 150 to 208

C208B weeping wing
So ive been told the new 208's will have a weeping wing and a slinger prop instead of boots. Does anyone know why cessna would go to this design considering you lose useable load and the space of the front compartment of the pod? Also is using a slinger prop and weeping wing more effective then boots?

Re: prepurchase inspection+ annual
If anything i would say get a different AME to do your pre-purchase because if the AME the owner is using for his annual is the usual one that looks over the plane a new set of eyes could pick up on something the usual AME misses.
