Re: Flydubai crash....Fatigue reports?

Well, from what I read they took 8:02hr worth of fuel. As for the length of holding, I may be wrong here, but I believe the "two hours" that everyone is talking about is from the time they tried their first approach, did a GA, went into holding and then try their last approach with a fatef...

https://www.rt.com/news/336514-flydubai-pilots-fatigue-crash/ All pax care about are cheap tickets... LCCs and ULCCs only care about getting maximum hours out of their crews for the lowest cost. More of this to come sadly. Thanks for posting the link FICU. Sadly this will continue until the rules c...

Re: Middle East now open to Turbo Prop Pilots'

I believe he's trying to say that the market is going to tank in the future... No, what he is trying to say is that if the market does tank, you go to jail if you can't pay your debts and you don't get out until they're paid. How you're supposed to raise the money from jail is not something they co...

Re: Porter's past secret problems spark concerns... Globe &

Basically, a Safety Management System relies on self-reporting and non-punitive measures in order to be effective. If there is no guarantee of privacy / immunity for the individuals, departments and companies that self-report, an SMS becomes useless. Non-punitive self-reporting pertains to individu...

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ

Glad everyone got out alive! Too early to say, but with that weather I wonder if guys did an autoland? If the power failed around the same time and generators didn't kick in, maybe the guys lost the "flare" and "rollout" capability in final stages of landing and the plane hit har...

pianokeys, you are quick to dismiss any possibility of something happening other then what big news media outlets reported? So anyone who brings up his/her theory or even some evidence that something else occurred on that tragic day is a looney tune basically? If anything has though me about the 9/1...

Re: Germanwings A320 Plane Crashes in Southern France

I personally think the investigators/judge are speaking out too soon. I mean they didn't even look at FDR tapes and already the blame is on pilots. Call me little skeptical but us pilots are the first one to get thrown down the river when something sh&ty happens. Airbus and Lufthansa/Germanwings...

Re: Germanwings A320 Plane Crashes in Southern France

How about a big red guarded thumb operated button on the joystick labelled "DIRECT LAW" ? Gilles, I don't think that would work, because if it's the issues with faulty sensors, which in turn screw up ADR's, the take over button won't over ride the computer which is thinking that the plane...

I get the fact that ATR is "washing their hands" of this accident, but doesn't it seem a bit too soon by Indonesian investigators (and ATR) to release details about this crash?

Re: TransAsia Airways plane carrying more than 50 people cra

Can someone with some experience in Flight Safety/Investigation explain why has ATR released some data/details from the FDR/CVR tapes only few days after the crash? I know they said this is only "preliminary" and subject to change, but is it not a bit too soon? Even in the article above, t...
