Re: USA bound …

I'm less positive about the trip at your age. Minimum 1000 hours right seat at a part 121 to go Captain, and if you go to a legacy carrier there are thousands millennials ahead of you in seniority that aren't taking early upgrades so basically forget ever having a decent lifestyle for years and lik...

Re: Delta now hiring Air Canada pilots

Yeah but you can't be a direct entry captain at Skywest without 1000hrs 121 experience. If you're needing the H1B visa, you likely won't have 1000 hours 121 to act as PIC. That's what I was getting at. Re-read what I wrote…I’ve heard that they can hire you DEC into their part 135 operation. You get...

Re: Delta now hiring Air Canada pilots

Unless you have 1000hrs part 121 experience, you cannot be a DEC in the USA. I believe the 1000 hr requirement is to act as PIC in part 121 , but it doesn’t have to be PIC in 121. Time can be in 121, 135, and possibly even 91K. Apparently Skywest has a charter department that operates part 135…or s...

Re: Delta now hiring Air Canada pilots

This individual is not American or married and was residing in Canada and never worked in U.S. before. But anyways there are also L1B visas (transferring inter-company and then pursuing flying. This one is path to citizenship), EB1 which may be the one this individual got in with and F4 which is th...

Re: Have you had Laser eye surgery?

I had PRK at Focus Eye Centre in Ottawa back in 1994. I finally had to start wearing glasses again after my latest medical back in May. Back in the day you lost your medical for a year. 30 days is nothing! If anyone’s considering trying to dupe TC, just remember if something ever happens in the cour...

Re: How long is Transport Canada processing time for Class 1 medical

Good for thought…back in May I submitted everything, emailed the RAMO, got a reply back the following day. He advised that everything was good and that I was good to go as soon as I got the sticker. He said there was a few weeks backlog. So…I called printing office, they couldn’t tell me how long it...

Re: Liberal “ Green New Deal” includes Canada wide high speed rail and allows employees to transition out of high carbon

I just saw a video about this a few days ago for the US...it’s a pipe dream. I believe they ended up with one section in California connecting Sacramento with some other town I’ve never heard of...

Re: Potential Airline Bailout

Incompetence is our government’s strength. Especially when it comes to the public purse. How is it even possible we’re still waiting for these buffoons to wake up and do what needs to be done to help avoid a total collapse of our industry? There are probably a few good reasons. How about these, for...

Re: Why are upgrades still happening at AC?

To be clear, an upgrade candidate will be allowed to finish the upgrade to completion, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will still be holding the position. If they were reduced on a bid during their upgrade they would then eventually be trained to their new APOS.

There were also several high profile accidents on the 737, where the rudders got reversed due to faults in the hydraulic unit.

Not sure where you are planning to move from, if you already own a house or are planning to buy...but if you were considering Cornwall Aviation, why not consider renting or buying in Cornwall area? It is quite inexpensive, has all the amenities one would need, is close to Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto a...

Re: Can a newly minted A319/320/321 AC Captain still be drafted back to an F/o position?

There are no 330 RP positions. All augmented flying (which there is very little of) is done by FO’s. There have been many 330 RPs over the years. Position was only eliminated recently. And yea, people have gone from Captain to RP of various fleets, or Captain to FO, or 777/787 FO to Narrowbody Capt...

Umm, many do. Some also go 320c to 787fo. Some have even gone EMJc to 330rp, by choice. Not kidding.
There is nothing new under the sun.

I can tell you that is a mainline A330 route as of right now. Not sure when you are traveling, but I can almost guarantee you 100%, that you will not be switched to a Rouge flight if you are going anytime soon.
