Re: Airport Discrimation
I'm with driving rain, Airports are business's, both private and public, some are in for making a profit and others are non profit. But, keep in mind, that politics plays a major role in the direction they take and how they take it.

Re: how old is to old?
Yakker, I am 45 and I am doing it and hopefully if all goes well, I will have my commercial with about 100 + hrs on floats and will be heading North at that point. I am in the somewhat in the same position as you, I do want to work up North and don't want to jump around from company to company. All ...

Re: Training in the States or Canada??
your looking for float time in Phoenix??? the big desert surrounded by hills?[/quote]
Should have been a bit more clear with that statement but it was meant to say "float operator in Florida" and a "regular operator in Scotsdale". Just want to do a bit of research with the operators in these areas!

Training in the States or Canada??
I am in the process of getting my PPL and continung till I have my CPL with time on floats and was wondering if it is better to head to the States rather than doing it in Canada? I am only 30% of the way through getting my PLC here in Canada and have been told by a few that I should head to the Stat...

Jobs in Costa Rica?
Anyone know if Costa Rica is a good place for employment for bush pilots? We are thinking about moving there and I am a pilot with low hours on floats - well, I will be by next year but just trying to get a head start on lining something up.
Cheers

How about the Bush Hawk? I know it will not come close in most aspects to the Beaver but is it not in the running?

Re: Commercial at age of 45 - work for someone or start a bus...
Thanks for the reply. Need all the help I can get with direction, etc... I guess I was not too specific about the business I would set up. Again, my first preference would be to work for a good company. But, I would set up a business that would provide sight seeing tours to lodges in Northern Canada...

Re: Commercial at age of 45 - work for someone or start a bus...
Well, at 45, if I can land the right job, I will be sticking around for a while. I would like to set it up in a way that if I can only get seasonal in Northern Canada, then I would head south for the winters and hopefully hook up to a flying job. I know it is going to be a tough haul but this guy is...
