Re: Snow and Runway Conditions
Liquid Charlie - My bad and good call on the crosswind chartage. The questions I wonder about the story are: 1. Did you return and land on the snow covered runway? 2. Was this during normal operating hours? Sounds like it was since the condition was NOTAMed. 3. Do you really believe this is a safety...

Re: Snow and Runway Conditions
In the FSS it says limited winter maint after hours, 2 hours prior notice required. During OPERATING HOURS, which are in the CFS; they should be able to keep the runway clear. Transport Canada Jobs?
I have heard that TC will be hiring a variety of new positions but cannot confirm it.
I can't even find a job posting from them on the gov't of Canada web site.
Does anyone know information about TC's hiring and where to get it?
Thanks

Re: Adhesion of Winter Contaminants to Aspualt and Humidity?
I have seen twin engine prop aircraft shut down and spin from the engine torque on an icey ramp. It can be very hazardous to manouver on when your brakes are ineffective. With respect to the zambonie comment. aha I like your thinking. Wondering about the training and knowledge of an ice man. He is m...

Adhesion of Winter Contaminants to Aspualt and Humidity?
En-light of the winter season approaching, the runway sweepers will be rolling. What are your thoughts regarding adhesion of ice/snow/etc to the runway pavement with respect to relative humidi ty. With smaller runways and jet/turbine operations, the proper clearing and cleaning of your runway is cru...
