avionco ! if my memory serve me right they hired dash/8 driver for contractual work all over the free world, I met some of the dash/8 pilots and they were a happy bunch, but if business slows down they are the first to feel the pinch IMO

I think it makes absolutely no difference .. there will always be young people or less young people applying there, it is difficult but if you can take the abuse you might get eventually to fly there enough pilots either quitting or getting fired.

17.000 hrs + total short of military I probably done it name a place worldwide good chance I flew into it anyone interested in buying a logbook or two cheap also included all the stories associated with the times . since nobody want to hire me might as well try to sell on ebay boys look on ebay!!

$25 000 for dash-7 type rating , hard to swallow and justify. I did not get a call from them either I applied and with dash-8 and fokker 50 time in the thousands hours PIC level , I felt somehow qualified plus I know africa well having flown there before on four engines airplane .I will not pay $25 ...

one way or another buffalo airways brings the best and worst reaction from people in aviation . I enjoy all the posts as I am an ex driver from the green machines

somehow the ratio pilot/jobs must be around 100/1 with so many looking and so few called.
heck!! I stand with 17.000hrs many good years left in me and get not even a peep from potential flight ops. I guess the overqualified syndrome is real and applied .

I remember doing the dozer run, sometime it was so cold, I would jump and jog beside the dozer while it crawled up and down the runway in blinding snowstorm .

Cat he was not that specific guy R.L has been now living in florida for several years, he got invited to the crowbar hotel in cuba but not for running drugs. we met and did a few trips together in KL on skis after his release from cuba. I think he must be around late seventies or early eighties now ...

Were have the years gone?? I guess all of 60 + year old pilots with lots round engines time ask themselves the same philosophical question.
