Re: TCU(towering cumulus) penetration from airlines perspect
Okay so starting this thread i had quite a different perspective up until last weekend. Quick answer, is don't mess around with TCU's, Mother-nature is POWERFUL. now for some more detailed information on my weekend TCU experiences; Tops of the TCU seemed not to be greater than 14000ft BUT neverthele...

TCU(towering cumulus) penetration from airlines perspective
I have recently had some disputes over TCU saftey concepts. Once the tops are bubbling over 13000ft people at my work start to get all iffy about flying into them....For all you airline/jet pilots....would you guys fly into a TCU with say a top of about 13000ft, would you enter a hold in a TCU with ...

Cruise pilot Vs Relief Pilot
What (if any is the difference between these two) I thought i read somewhere long ago that a CRUISE pilot can have a cat 2 medical and only be allowed to fly the plane above 10000ft and only to relieve the duty of the main crew, is any of this true?

Re: Left the industry/considered it/or know someone who did?
When people enter flight school i think a good ratio of people who actually go through with it as a career is say mabe 1-2 in every 30 people. lets face it, not everyone was meant to be a pilot for ever. mabe some were meant to just learn how to solo, some mabe to get a rec or priv permit, some just...
