Re: Pilots Support Retirement

[quote="Mechanic787"] It is such a shame that so many of you who have huge judgmental responsibility in your professional work first, can't seem to distinguish between a legal argument and a moral argument, and second, can't seem to incorporate into your thinking processes factual information that h...

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

But once again, there is no point in me trying to point out the facts here - everyone can see this for what it really is, greed. There's that greed thing again. Are you right about that? Or would you just like to be right about that. Are you inside the hearts and minds of guys who just want their b...

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

Sat and listened to guys scheme about signing up hoping for a big payout after they retired at their last medical. Not once did they talk about human rights That's not great is it? Well they would have discovered by now that the complaint process is all about reinstatement. The complaint of discrim...

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

Accumulous, I read the CHRT ruling. Admittedly, it was, as you put, "enlightening"....and at the same time without sarcasm and all sincerity informative. It forced me to rethink my view on human rights. And I am struggling with it. I do not know whether to be A) Proud of a country that has reached a...

i think that's exactly the point i'm making...

the law of the land was written for a reason,
i'm asking is this specific case a valid reason?

are rights really violated?

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

Accumulous, Like someone said earlier, we are so far apart on this issue, it is almost pointless to spend the energy composing replies. I asked you earlier to convince me that this is truly a human rights issue. I've read your replies, (including the one which was removed by the mods.) I will state ...

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

Am I losing my mind or did two posts just disappear before I had a chance to reply? That's not really fair because the one post that disappeared quite clearly proved my point that this whole case is based on pure wants...not needs...and is still, in my opinion...far from a human rights issue. And I ...

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

I stand to be corrected, but "human rights" and all the legislation surrounding them were brought into form to protect the NEEDS of citizens...the need to eat, clothe, and house yourself and your family in this country was determined to be a protected RIGHT...and one way to provide those NEEDS in t...

Re: Pilots Support Retirement

Nice try but you got the entire Act wrong and you really should read it. Better still you should take that argument, call the Human Rights Commission and read it to them. They are readily available to answer your questions. Tell them about the spitting and the greed and the rest of those comments a...

Re: Saskatoon Airline ordered to reinstate dismissed pilot

And assuming that the 50% plus pilots that voted for the union were concerned solely with wage compensation is again, naieve. But I'm sure your book convinces you otherwise. And the fact that 70+% of WWA pilots at this point have petitioned to decertify the union after over a year without a collect...

Re: Saskatoon Airline ordered to reinstate dismissed pilot

This has nothing to do with safety. That was an unfair and inaccurate inference. Hopefully it was an error by the poster. West Wind Aviation is one of the safest and best managed companies out there. This issue has everything to do with who runs the company and with a group of employees combining t...

SaskStlye, You're now getting boring you whining little child. Yes, company A knew they were bidding for work that company B was shortly not going to be doing. Why on earth should company A be obliged to employ people (not just pilots) from company B? Its no different in any other industry. Pulp mi...

Re: Jazz & Thomas Cook = 6 757's

OK. I'll try one more time to explain my arguments and my concerns. First though, I want to make it very clear I have no bones whatsover about Jazz getting the flying. Jazz is a good company, good benefits, nice lifestyle etc. And as ChallengerDan said, the alternatives could have been a lot worse. ...

Re: Jazz & Thomas Cook = 6 757's

Re: Jazz & Thomas Cook = 6 757's

my thoughts go out to my fellow aviators and former SSV pilots. i hope they are able to provide for themselves and their families. i will do what i can by asking my MEC to be aware that these pilots should be given opportunities to train JAZ pilots on the 57 and preferential hiring above other appl...

Re: Jazz & Thomas Cook = 6 757's

I feel for the guys who lost out at SSV. I think this would be one reason to abolish the seniority system...but that's for a different thread. However, to attack the Jazz MEC is beyond pale and reflects an ignorance in labour relations. I am not a union type guy, but the way our MEC operates is in ...

Re: Jazz Air LP signed an agreement with Thomas Cook Canada

You make some great points, and I appreciate the dialogue. You make your choice, hope like hell it's a good choice and roll with it. With your logic, I think WestJet should stop taking new hulls, because enevitably this will put stress on other companies and more pilots will be out of work. Looking ...

Has anyone given any thought to the 150 SkyService pilots who are out of work because your company took over the flying? Has anyone given any thought to the 150 SkyService pilots who are out of work because your company took over the flying? You as a pilot group have an opportunity to set an example. Instead of debating the merits of your payscale...debate the merits of leaving fellow pilots on the street. Remember th...
