I think we're all open to speculation on this one.

Ever Dealt With A Crusty Pilot...Here's Why!!!

The Pilot Personality -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pilots are a distinct segment of the general population. In addition to flying skills, pilots are selected for their personalities and for a distinct "pilot persona." These characteristics make the...

Re: Pilots outraged by release of cockpit recordings

After posting this article I went to a website that had cockpit voice recordings from previous accidents. It was pretty shocking, a real eye opener. I definately wasn't desensitized to the recordings one bit. Something in which my curiosity could have done without. I'll stick to the transcripts next...

Re: representation of aviation on AvCanada

I find this a great forum for discussion. Even though I'm pretty new to the site, I've noticed that this particular forum isn't only for "pilots". There are a whole lot of different people on here who blog, and most come from different backgrounds and varying focusses in aviation. I certainly find t...

Re: Gangs infiltrating Canadian airports

I've certainly seen pilots getting the third degree from screeners and customs personel both at YYZ and YUL. But that's not really the point here, the fact of the matter is that many airport staff employees abuse the use of thier red passes, and these drug issues can be easily manipulated into incre...

Flight Dispatcher FAA Certification

I was wondering if any dispatchers have gone on to write the FAA ADX dispatchers examinations and successfully completed them. I've been on the FAA website and found the information provided is a little less detailed than I expected. :? From what I have read, to obtain the license one must do a writ...

Re: Stupid Canadian Politics

Well think of it this way: There are 3 leftist parties and one relatively conservative party in contention. With the more leftist parties (Liberals, Green, and NDP) all competing with one another they actually do themselves more harm than good. Essentially their votes are divided amongst these three...

Anyone from Sunwing or EnerJet able to chip in on this? And if so, does this action from the FAA affect your aircraft type?

Re: Will Enerjet fly?

Suncor is a great client to be flying for. Nevertheless, I'm still confused with the whole EnerJet business model. From what I've read on their website it appears they will be operating charters to southern destinations from smaller communities, but now I hear they will be flying for Suncor. How man...

Boeing 737s must be tested - But In Canada???

FAA: Boeing 737s must be tested November 20, 2008 The Federal Aviation Administration has ordered emergency inspections of newer-generation Boeing Co. 737s, saying a fuel pump may overheat and catch fire because of improper wiring to an automatic cutoff switch. Delta Air Lines and American Airlines ...

Very true Benwa, but in all respect to CATSA, there are definately times passing through security where I've seen searches rushed. I have personally made it through with more than 100ml and no clear plastic baggies ;)

Re: Lufthansa Restoring Constellation to Flying Condition

Beautiful aircraft, beautiful people, beautifuls FA's. What more could a person ask for. As for Porter...from what I've seen and read, their market is focussed on bringing the old ways of air travel back to life. Although the Q400 doesn't have the same appeal as the Constellation, that Dash definate...

I guess this wouldn't be a big deal if the prior TAF's reflected more accurancy in forecasting. But c'mon people this is weather, if I wanted a general forecast I would watch the weather channel. A fluffly cloud here and there...why not eh? We're just sending million dollar machines and thousands of...
