Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???
With all the hiring planned coming up, what’s the chances for the OTS hires? Will there be more percentage wise or will it still be the usual 80-90% jazz? The new collective agreement signed between Air Canada and Jazz in 2018 states that a minimum of 60% of new Air Canada pilots have to come from ...

Re: New MOA details
No one on here has and facts. 200 people who were surplus but still flying are going to be moved to active status. And there will be no more than the orginal 600 Furloughs till October. We didn't give anything up. This was all just agreed apon when they negotiated how to incorporate the new fatigue...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
Probably the best outcome or news that Transat could get so far in the current situation; delays. There is no way AC would be able to absorb the transaction right now (mid-2020 was the estimate initially). Holding on and waiting for an extra 4 months will be hard for Transat I guess, but at least i...

Re: 79 Airplanes Retired
For those in the know - what was the rationale behind eliminating all of the LCC 319 and WB RP positions? Also, why the reductions on the 737? WB RP is mostly a junior seat also, I'm just guessing majority will fall into this layoff, they can eliminate them immediately and cover the flying with exi...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
On another note, May 2nd passed, which means Transport Canada (should) has made its recommendation to Minister Garneau. I don't think the info was supposed to go public, and obviously it didn't. BUT, Air Canada CEO and CFO will host a conference call and a webcast tomorrow on May 4th, 2020 at 08:30...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
There is one simple truth to this acquisition of Transat by AC...There is NOT enough flying anymore for both work groups because of COVID-19. We can speculate a lot about when full recovery is gonna happen, but to come back at the same level where 4500 AC pilots and 600 TS pilots are required will t...

Just a rumor, but heard that the two GS in March are the last ones before a hiring freeze because of the coronavirus.

Re: Hiring on stand by
Right now it looks like it has almost stopped at least for this summer... No one has heard anything yet or had a reply from the AC Express Pilot Careers Portal posting that came out in March. And only a few have been hired from PML 2.0 in the last six months. Mostly people from PML 1.0 hired recentl...

Re: Rumor about %30 pay increase
Normal pay after tax and every deduction (I have family insurance so it's more expensive), is 1000$ per two weeks (40 credits). First year F/O YUL based. Actually pretty simple, about 44% of the salary are deductions for me (tax and benefits). My guess, captains would be close to 60% in deductions b...

Re: Jazz Aug 31 Equipment BID
Talking about more senior folks, there are probably now quite a few college grads with at least 2 years of seniority who got their ATPLs recently. A good part of the upgrades will go to these guys in my opinion.

Re: DE Captains ?
DE captains are highly unlikely. The only way this could happen is if there are no qualified pilots on the seniority list who have bid to fill vacancies. Unless Jazz starts hiring low time F/Os only, there will always be someone qualified and willing to fill a captain vacancy.

Re: Cell Phone Plans Canada/USA
Videotron just got a new plan: Unlimited CAN and US call, texting and 2 Go of data for only 65.95$ or 50.95$ per month if you bring your own phone (you can get an extra 5$ off if you have any other services with them). You can use your plan in the USA for up to 90 days a year with no extra fee. I do...

Re: Accept this job offer?
I think you should accept the job if you don't have anything better right now. It's always better to fly right now, than to wait on the ground. I was in the same exact situation as you 2 years ago, I accepted the job which did not include a lot of flying, but it was still enough turbine experience t...
