Re: Hunters Blundering onto Air Fields
Prosecution is the correct answer. It's also the reason there is almost no enforcement or action taken for 301--it would have to be very serious or a recurring offence for charges to be laid by TC or police.

Re: Hunters Blundering onto Air Fields
It’s an offence under CAR 301.08(i) to discharge a firearm within or into the boundary of an aerodrome without the permission of the aerodrome operator. Unfortunately there’s no penalty associated with the rule, but it’s something you could put on a sign. Well, there is a penalty, but it would be a...

Re: Learning Conversational French
Some people are more adept at learning another language than others, and of course the younger you are, the easier it is. If you're older, and one of those without a gift in languages, you may not be able to even reach a bare conversational level. In the fed gov't. French classes are often offered f...

Some of us are still in touch with OFD. You'll be glad to hear he hasn't changed his attitude, and shares it regularly elsewhere.
As I have every year on Christmas eve, I listened to The Shepherd. It never fails to choke me up.

Re: Anybody here get their private aerodrome in the CFS?
It didn't use to be difficult, and still doesn't look hard enough to warrant a consultant. See here: https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/opssvs/managementservices-referencecentre-acs-300-301-002-1219.htm or contact the regional Aerodrome Safety office of TCCA (or whatever they're calling themselv...

Re: Crash at Iles-de-la-Madeleine
Interesting how the TSB investigation is headed and done by their Atlantic Regional office, and not from the Quebec regional office. A Quebec-based crew, to and from two Quebec airports, all French speaking including all 7 victims. I get it that Iles-de-la-Madeleine are physically close to the Atla...

Re: Crash at Iles-de-la-Madeleine
OMG that poor mother! The LaPierre family were flying home for their father's funeral and their mother was awaiting their arrival. Two of her sons on board and Jean's wife plus crew & I'm guessing other family members. That poor mother!
Does anyone know the carrier?

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ
The Transportation Safety Board investigation into the Air Canada crash will take months, perhaps years, before conclusions are reached and a final report is published. It will make safety recommendations, not assign blame. And in the end Canadians will know less about what went on in the cockpit t...

I agree using your own words is better, but volume of correspondence counts too. The ideas here give you a pretty good place to start. My letter is in draft now.
