Re: Jazz Air LP signs 5 year deal with Thomas Cook Canada

You're right. I'm never going to get through to anyone on here. People believe what they want to believe or what they've been trained to believe. At first I thought it was just people's egos talking that had them coming on here in droves to defend Jazz but now I'm becoming aware that they actually b...

Complaining will commence on November 6, 2010 that the guy taxiing by in the Dash 8 is taking home the same amount of money as the guy responsible for operating a 757.

Re: Interested by Sky Regional Airlines, please consider

There are huge numbers of pilots in Canada that could make threads about how you taking a job at Jazz has negatively impacted the industry. What was your starting pay around $36k? Many highly qualified 703/704 pilots didn't apply to Jazz because they simply couldn't afford to live in a city on those...

Re: Let's take the Hawker to Vegas again - TCIF

Actually, at least 4 out of 5 of those trips were the TCIF boys. And I have to say I've never seen anyone able to spend money like those guys. And I've flown a lot of corporate jet owners. They have devoted the best years of their youth in school getting a higher education and then worked so hard t...

Re: graphic / chart of this?

If this airspace is really due to mortar shells, artillery shells, etc. why is the floor 700 AGL and not surface level? I see nothing suggesting the area can't safely be traversed at 500 AGL and that would be my first choice if weather or winds were preventing me go over top of it at 11500.

Ahhhahaha. Jazz gets Sky Service's 757 work and then AC gives away the new Dash 8 work to...... Sky Service. The ironing is delicious. Watch the new dash pilots at Sky Service work for way less than Jazz pilots now*. When does AC's contract with Jazz expire? Something tell me that if SK does a good/...

This seems to be common among federal pilots from DND aircraft to Transport Canada to the MNR. I remember the 415 bomber radio calls are particularly shocking in length while providing little relevant information. Any respondents please reply at http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=67...

Wasaya next. 8) It would probably make more sense to just price them into bankruptcy. Sort of like what Wasaya did to NAC a few years back. Poetic justice I guess. Calm Air has already taken over much of their Hydro One fuel hauling communities with an extremely low contract bid. They'll do the sam...

Re: Air Transat Pilots Overwhelmingly authorize strike

Canjet is still in business? That comes as news to me. There seems to be a lot of sour grapes in this thread from pilots who's recent contract negotiations didn't go too well. I don't blame you though. Pouring a bunch of your pay into ALPA and then not being able to strike is frustrating as hell esp...

Re: will the first row arrive before the last seat ?

Say you pay the extra $39 and it gets you off the plane 10 seconds faster than the people in the row behind you. That's a little under $4 per second saved or about $14000 per hour. If your time is that valuable you aren't flying coach on American Airlines. I feel sorry for the people booking last mi...

I'm pulling for these guys. Hopefully things work out better for them then the Jazz contract. Ms. Raitt will have a harder time preventing a strike by saying the service they provide is essential for the country in this case.
