So if you're closing in on 5 years since your last flight, you need to:
1) Write the ASL
2) Complete 5 take-offs and landings
After 5 years it's the PSTAR plus a flight review?

Personally I am neutral on the issue. But doesn't it all work out in the wash? I doubt most pilots will fly 'til they die. Some stay a little longer, some a little less.
