I would be interested, pending the cost and the conditions, etc. What are the registrations of the airplanes they are trying to sell?

Re: AT back in the black
Transat summer and winter operations are vastly different. While Transat is finding the right balance for the trans-Atlantic market, it still seems unable to compete with Sunwing who is adding 30% capacity this winter to southern destinations. Hopefully Transat can figure that part of the puzzle out.

Re: Sunwing at it again!
One thing to keep in mind is that these foreign pilots flying for SWG, CJ, WS, etc are definitely not cheap labour. If anything, on average for their experience levels, they are better compensated than their Canadian equivalents. The benefit of course is the flexibility of bringing them in for a few...

Re: Air Transat's new cabin
I know Air Transat has had a few challenging years, but let's face it, they still have a lot of money. Also, I get the impression that the Club class does well for them. It's nice to see them upgrade the entire cabin in order to be more competitive. Hopefully somebody from Air Transat can fill us in...

Air Transat's new cabin
To celebrate Air Transat's 25th Anniversary, they are introducing their new cabin, to be retrofitted to their fleet over the coming two years. My guess is this is only on the A330's? The details look very nice, and I'm looking forward to it. [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBse6WOCd70&featur...

Re: Air Canada pilots call in sick, fatigued, and blind.
So Minimums, if according to your logic, Air Canada pilots don't actually do any work, how do you justify upper management getting the pay increases they've had recently? They also don't clean their offices, or airplanes, or de-ice airplanes or . bags. By your logic, they don't do anything either. T...

Re: Porter Pilots Unionize
If I recall the Pilots at C3 were willing to do anything to save the company. They were willing to chop their own heads off if it would buy the company a little time to resurrect. In the 11th hour it was not enough as the FA union reps (CUPE?) tried to play hard ball. Anyone around here actually wo...

Re: Porter Pilots Unionize
This union hate regarding C3 is missing the point entirely. C3 would have still shut down whether or not there was a union. However, perhaps employees were better off during the existence of C3 thanks to the union. As for Porter, I don't think it's so much the pay that's the problem there, but maybe...

Re: Jazz college grad new hires?f
Well, for those of you pissed off at this whole idea, I'm told the program has been expanded and more college grads will land in the right seat of Jazz aircraft as their first gigs. Yes we know, the program has been ongoing for a few years now and will continue. I said it will be expanded, not cont...

Re: Grounding Foreign Pilots
Gino, perhaps it is you with the thick skull? I think it is a great opportunity to be able to fly 6 months overseas and 6 months in Canada, as long as the company takes care of the details and pays accordingly. Pilots who are on these reciprocal arrangements get full per diems, housing etc, and trus...

Also, of late I'd tend to question the use of the word "secure" in your comment? I can't disagree with you there! You know what pisses me off? I don't have an issue with Ornge or MOH or whoever coming in and operating directly on behalf of the government in the interest of raising the bar whe...

So happy you can live with the "essential service" that was being handled just fine thank you, before Ornge came into play, resulting in privately owned operations cutting back and laying off pilots. ... and replacing them with better paying and more secure jobs for pilots and other staff members. ...

Re: Write your MP: foreign pilots, TS layoffs
I would support this if every Canadian pilot working overseas agrees to quit their job and come home. Agreed, I personally have had the privilege of working overseas as a Canadian and it helped my career. We can't have our cake and eat it too. ie. Canadians working overseas / europe. X2! We cheer o...

Re: CARGO JET LAYOFFS
Thankfully there is a decent amount of hiring going on out there. I hope this and other recent events at Cargojet are a wake up call for pilots there to do some serious job hunting. Management doesn't give a sh!t, so why should you?
