Re: YWG Belly Landing

"The two pilots even tried a "touch and go" -- skimming the ground and bopping the plane's bottom on the runway. None of it loosened the gear that holds the wheels -- and the plane was running out of fuel."

Sounds sketchy.

C206Pilot,
Any tips for us on what interview questions they asked? Were you on your own for travel expenses for both interviews?

Re: Ornge Offer

Decent salary and free training would be my only requirements. Nothing like what you listed above. Sadly even those two things are quite rare.

Re: Ornge Offer

Why do employers continue to post job ads on here if so much is at stake? Cause they know despite all the good advice about not taking loans out for your job and stories from people who have been f*cked over by voyageur, jetsgo, et al, they are still going to have pilots fighting for the chance to ...

Re: Can some one from Ornge in the fixed wing please explain!!!!

What about bonds? I heard the CP is one of voyageur's finest. I'd imagine a briefcase full of cash would help you through the second interview. What's with the second interview anyways? Why didn't you ask everything in the first interview? Are travel expenses being paid for these applicants?

Re: Can some one from Ornge in the fixed wing please explain!!!!

Sounds mediocre at best. Must have lots of applicants (as always) though. I'd have a bit of fear of the wrong person finding out how much money is being wasted and pulling the plug. Much like how I live in fear of someone finding out how much money is wasted on the reserves and shutting those down. ...

Re: shouldn't the jazz thread be back?

2 hours waiting for a flight crew to show up. Nearly an hour waiting for a ground crew to push us back. 30 minutes to kick passengers off the airplane because 'we just realized we are overweight' (scary). I watched the competition turn 3 airplanes at the next gate while we sat there. This airline is...

Some of the highest paid pilots in the world I believe. If you have the experience they are after and you have the legal right to work there (American citizen or whatever) I'd jump at it.

Re: TC finally wising up and changing the duty regs?

Sounds way too sensible for tc. The t/o and landing rule is a great one. In and out, up and down all day is more taxing than sitting in cruise for 12 hours. Bad weather days magnify that in a huge way. Jan. 2010. That's funny. 'Hey, there's a real safety issue here so we're going to do something abo...
