Re: Working the dock at Harbour Air
The dispatcher job in Kamloops at the fire centre is a great job. Dockhand at Harbour Air in the summer is really hard job. A few years ago when HA didn't run a skeleton crew on the dock, dockhands were typically walking 20 km a day on the dock. I can't even imagine what they were doing just prior t...

Re: Runners/Joggers
Most people new to running go out WAY TOO HARD when they start a running program. North Shore is bang on with a good slow warm up and warm down. Elite runners only do 2-3 hard runs per week or else they risk burn out or injury. If you are going at a pace where it is difficult to talk then you are go...

Telex Stratus 50 headsets for sale
Hello, Selling my hardly used Telex Status 50 Digital headsets. I have owned them a few years but never quite liked them as much as my older DCs. There a few posts on AvCanada about these headsets. Awesome product but not for me. I bought them for $675 USD and willing to let them go for $350. I stil...

Re: Duathlon
Running off the bike is not easy. Make sure you do a few brick (bike then run) workouts leading up to the race. The best way to start is to simply jog off the bike for 15 minutes a few sessions a month and eventually build up to running 30 minutes off the bike once per week.

Strongly suggest Island Air in Courtenay with Mike. I did some training with him which lead to a job on the island. He shares an office with a float plane AMO which was awesome for networking.

I am almost took that same job two years ago at this exact time of year. I was low hour pilot trying to get my first job. Re: Glacier Air?
I did my PPL with Glacier Air. I strongly recommend them for flight training. I found the ground school a bit week; so, I did the PPL Blast with Pro IFR. Upper Squamish valley is an amazing practice area - I don't know how people do it in Glen Valley.
