Re: Airport Parking Ruled a Taxable Benefit
Makes me think if Revenue Canada is about to go after all the free coffee and soda's and meals served to the crews on the airplane while en-route. Taxable benefit you know. How about the use of restrooms in the airplane or in the workplace office. This smacks as of desperate Liberal times attempting...

Re: Traffic you cant explain
Many years back while driving in the city of Calgary on 16th Ave westbound in the community of Montgomery heading out of the city just before the Bow River. It was winter and the sun was setting below the hills to my left and the sky was clear with unlimited visibility. The sun was below the hills t...

Once again video showing people running away from the burning aircraft on the tarmac clutching their carry on bags. I sure hope nobody died because of the time those survivors used pulling bags from the overhead bins.

Does it not make sense to include partial panel in every IFR check ride? To include regular refresher partial panel training. It's something one seldom gets to practice and when you need the skills- you really need the skills.

Re: Carbon tax will drive up airline tickets
Something about electric cars most people are not considering. Do some research and find out how much of the cost of each litre of gasoline you purchase is actually Provincial or Federal road tax. So we all switch to electric vehicles and the Governments coffers will drastically decrease because of ...

Re: New drone rules for Canada...
I don't own a drone yet, but for fun & giggles I quickly read through the website and the required knowledge list and paid my $10 and wrote the 35 question exam for the basic licence. I passed with a high 80's mark and printed my license. I'm good to go although these rules don't take effect until J...

Re: How do I make connections to land that firsts job?
Get a job on the airport in general aviation - any job. Not at the airline terminal - but at the general aviation side of the airport. Keep your head down and do a great job and be friendly with everyone. Get to know people and and ask lots of questions when appropriate. The good people in the indus...

I cannot believe if you own an airplane and you fly in the mountains that you don't carry something like a 1/2 pound SPOT Personal Tracker which costs perhaps $175 and a few bucks a year for a subscription. HOW IT WORKS: Once activated, SPOT acquires and sends your GPS coordinates to your SPOT accou...

I'm pretty disgusted by some of the immature and selfish comments I have read by some who seem to have zero concept of the issues occurring here. Your name calling of the local farmers and home ow...

Departing YBW runway 17 there is a road and deep ditch 860 feet directly south of the end of the runway. Witnesses have reported the aircraft did not accelerate normally on the runway and the aircraft appeared to struggle into the air and climb poorly. Faced with an engine failure or partial loss of...

Notice the guy run out after the woman. Stops and figures that its too dangerous to go help anyone in the aircraft, so he runs over to save his car.

Re: Instructor hours
Good pilots don't fly the airplane with their hands and feet. First they manage it mentally with their heads. Good pilots are good managers first. Remember the old adage where the airplane slams into the ground and the pilot arrives 10 minutes later. It's about staying ahead of the airplane in all c...
