Re: Can a non Canadian get a job in Canada?

Frozen ATPL
I am not sure it is ICAO vocabulary. I would even say it doesn't officially exist.
It is called very simply: ATPL theory. Why twisting vocabulary?

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

Typhoon, you are welcome. so I figure if I don't manage to land a gig somewhere for the season, I may as well further my education while still looking for that entry position. It seems good. Looking for a job ask commitment sometimes... I mean you have to beleive in it. I understand you still have y...

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

Flybabe: My comment was not a personal attack against you I never took your post as a personal attack against me. I just beleive some of you guys misunderstood the issue here in this topic. It 's not a basic question about getting an education or not, it's about typhoon not willing to do what he has...

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

Flybabe: Consider this: You go get your pilot's license and land a job within a year or two. In 5 years, you decide you hate flying (or the schedule, whatever) or lose your medical. You've now realized that you have nothing else. So, either you stay in aviation, doing a job that you hate, or you sta...

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

Flybaby: Despite what SunWuKong says, I'm pretty sure you know that we can't tell you what to do. For real? There are 2 pages of degree brain washing telling him to stop looking for a job: get a degree YES YES YES, do it do it, get it, get the degree..... (read the 2 pages) and I am the one doing it...

Re: Inflation/Hyperinflation - we may be in for a painful ri

what do YOU think will happen with the US dollar? No I am not an economics graduate, and I don't know what will happen to the US dollar. I read a lot of different articles about it, and I still don't have any idea. It involves not only economic, but politics aswell right? It depends aswell on China...

Re: Inflation/Hyperinflation - we may be in for a painful ri

An off grid house, awell stocked pantry, gun’s/ammo, a wood stove, and some distance between you and the masses and your ready for everything including the zombie hoards. Exactly ;-) You were the one speaking about Hyperinflation... Anyway, it all depends on what KAG is speaking about. If this is a...

Re: Inflation/Hyperinflation - we may be in for a painful ri

King Air Guy, After WW2, 50 ounces of gold could buy you a city block in Berlin - Hyperinflation. In the late 70's, 500 ounces of silver could buy an average house in America - Inflation. That's why I said it's part of the problem. However I didn't say you cannot make any money in investing in metal...

Re: Inflation/Hyperinflation - we may be in for a painful ri

Investing in precious metal to fight against hyperinflation?
I would say those kind of dangerous gamble (tulip mania netherlands) is part of the problem.

If we really have to face an economy breakdown and finance crash down, better have as a back up a little farm to grow potatoes and chickens.

Re: Becoming a pilot

:) , maybe that's the good side of it.

But maybe the world is perfect and the future stable, and we won't have to adapt to anything, and will lose no job.
Maybe pilot is a career with a bright future.

Perhaps we shouldn't even talk about it anyway...

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

Explain us why university cannot wait? I just did. Everybody can see you didn't. Let's imagine the person wants to become a pilot, and he did pass a CPL for that. YOU guys take the responsability to tell him to abandon to look for a job, after a CPL he has just passed, to go to university for 2 or ...

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

Yes get the University degree. Basically to get on an airline now a days you need some sort of post secondary education to get onto an airline, if thats what your looking for. Westjet had a job opening for 60 positions, had something like 3000 applicants, and 1000 of them had post secondary. They a...

Re: To finish a degree? Yes or no?

University can wait for you, not the hiring cycle.
Wrong...
Flying can wait.
FINISH the degree. Finish school.
This industry could turn by the end of this business day. (Note the cost of fuel is going up again)
Explain us why university cannot wait?

Re: Becoming a pilot

I was not born, and I am not well informed about the first oil crisis.
Was it because an OAPEC oil embargo, then the Iran revolution? Which created a shortage of oil supply, immediately followed by recession and lay off?
