Re: " I've been Rouged " Brilliant marketing!
Truth is, rouge is no better or worse than WJ or SW or AT. The traveling public is only faithful to their pocketbook. 90% or better will choose the airline that suits them at the time of booking based on fare...even though today they rant about rouge but would book with them next trip if they'll sav...

Re: " I've been Rouged " Brilliant marketing!
Right....? WestJet, Sunwing, AT and CanJet (my emp) and alike have been doing the low cost thing for years, all known for tight seating, no frills and basic low cost model service and as soon as Air Canada joins in the mix they're the bad guy. I bought a confirmed flights on rouge last month to the ...

Re: CARGO ATTENDANT TO F.O POSITION
I know of a guy that worked the YHZ ramp for Air Canada in the 90's to late 90's that did exactly that albeit he had to eventually quit his ramp job to build time in the bush etc. BUT clearly the history with AC helped him because he is a 8 year AC pilot now in YYZ. So I don't think it's the norm, b...

Canjet training Air Transat 737 pilots
Yesterday, our MEC announced that CanJet has entered into a training agreement with Air Transat. 24 Transat pilots will be starting their Ground School on November 12, there will be two other courses starting on January 6 and February 3, with 12 pilots in each course. So CanJet will be training all ...

CanJet pilots vote in new contract
The pilots here at CJ, represented by ALPA voted in a second contract on Monday. Many improvements, including per diems, loss of license insurance, more GDOs, and scheduling rules. Not all that we had hoped for with salary, but a slight bump. When I consider the fact that we only have 1 year of flyi...

Re: Duty free purchases in uniform?
Unless the bottle is open and your lips are wrapped around it, my company (and from a Muslim country) has no prohibition on purchasing liquor at Duty Free while in Uniform. In fact, for us, it is almost SOP to stop in once a week and get our 10% discount. LMAO!!! Agreed. I dont see a problem with i...

Duty free purchases in uniform?
I am curious do your airlines restrict your privledges of purchasing duty free while in uniform? Is there a problem with this?

Re: ALPA Canada releases video on Foreign pilots issue
FACT: CanJet has never had more than 46 foreign pilots...that was in 2008. Since the numer has decreased to about 26 in 2012/13..all FO's. SunWing has more than 7X that amount. FACT: SunWing has mainly foreign registered airframes, drastically more foreign licensed Captains and FO's...This is a fore...

Re: Air Transat sets stage for important announcements
Bbgd, I am sure You are kidding. If an B737 operator can only pay 85000$ for 737 capt. ,than that operator should not be in the bussiness of operating 737's but King Airs. I'm am positive that a 737 Captaincy is paid more ,even in Canada. Flying airliners is a career not a hobby. So misinformed you...

Re: Canjet losing Transat flying?
Hello Verybadman, First of all the comments from both Captain Prater and Aubin have nothing to do with the ability of the CJ pilots, but rather the passenger/customer's experience in the cabin. It would be unprofessional to say the least for one ALPA carrier to bad mouth another one, I suggest you ...

Re: Canjet losing Transat flying?
CJ's on-time performance on a seasonal basis has surpassed AT's standard that was set for us. That is a recent statement directly to CJ employees from our CEO. Not to diminish the problems that we experienced at the outset of the season, but we pulled up our socks and got it done. I am also not sugg...

Re: Air Transat Fleet
From the Air Transat CP, the first order of business is a common wide body fleet (330's). After that, Bob's your uncle. Nothing going on about a 737 addition (yet).

Re: I haven't had a rant in a while...
Interesting thread. For those with their quick answers and simple solutions, great. But, did you know that in some countries, when you ask a controller for a ride report, he/she hasn't a clue what you're talking about. The system here isn't perfect but it isn't the worst either. Not by a long shot....

Re: Air Transat Fleet
Canjet is doing a fair job considering they went from 5 to 14 aircraft overnightt. On time performance was weak during December but has improved significantly. TransAt has cancelled some flights but only a very small percentage. The flights that were cancelled had poor passenger loads through AT boo...

Re: Canjet info re: new cba
Funny how quiet the Canjet boys are on this thread. Embarrassed? :snakeman: You know your right., there’s nothing to brag about. 14-15 days off/month, 3 weeks vacation, salary range for a Capt. 90K-145K year after 10 years, 51K-75K as an FO (start salary better than WJ or AC I think?), no commuter ...
