Re: Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks guys and I apologize for a late reply. I checked Burlington Airpark & Spectrum Airways and they both are not currently hiring people. I can't work at Porter because I don't have a G license yet(which I will get in the coming months). I was hoping to work in this specific environment but I don...

Re: Any advice would be appreciated.
99% of the aviation jobs around you are at Pearson... I drove from Hamilton to Pearson to . bags around. That was when fuel was way cheaper though. Spectrum Airways is the only place nearby, most places like that tend to hire their own students though. Porter is hiring rampies at the island, you co...

Any advice would be appreciated.
Hey guys, I believe some of you would know already that I was getting ready to head north this fall for flight training. It's very difficult, having to talk about things like this with other than my family members but I think I need some serious advice. Long story short, I've just decided to turn do...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
I'm getting the conflict for duplicate times for AF150 both on day "R" (which I'm assuming is Thursday, correct me if I am wrong). However, the course I'm talking about is AF 115, do you have that on Friday? After looking into the problem a bit, I see under the course info for Aircraft Systems and ...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Quick question for all you guys in Block A. After switching my elective course and reprinting my time table, I noticed a little bit of a difference between my original schedule and my now new schedule. On Fridays as of right now, I have math in the morning and English in the afternoon. However, on ...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
So you are going on C2 pass then or a C3? I would've done the same with my Dad but we decided to use air miles instead. I'm not sure which of those 2 I fit in. I only know that the fare is somewhere around $54 but the seat isn't guaranteed :) Hopefully I get to go on the 5th hehe About the phone nu...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Thanks for the reply :D that's the exact reason why I'm probably going to switch, I've always disliked giving presentations (I can do them, but prefer not to) and the idea of role-playing and such doesn't seem that interesting to me, where as I guess I've always had an interest with how different c...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Hi all, Just dropping in to say hi and that I will be attending Confed this September. I'm currently in Cambridge, ON (Southern Ontario). Hey guys, it's the registration day. Anyone decide which elective of the two(Exploring Human Diversity, and Interpersonal Communication) to select? I chose Explo...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Does anybody know if there is a math assessment test? I now know that there is one for english for sure. I think I've read, somewhere from the college website, that all new first years are to write the math assessment test as well as the english one but this one will be on the 9th @ 4pm.
Cheers,

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Hey guys I am sure many of you will find Confed, as I did, an experience of a lifetime. Having never left southern ontario, it was certainly an adventure, for me anyways. I think most of your questions have been answered. As long as you can find the happy medium between having fun and hitting the b...

Re: Serious answers where will I get funds from?
I did not require a cosigner, I was 21 however. That's something new  I was 23 and all 3 financial institutions asked me for a cosigner, that's strange. Why is that strange? Financial institutions will require a co-signer if the person applying for the loan / line of credit doesn't have the cr...

Re: Serious answers where will I get funds from?
The problem with the line of credit is that, you need a cosigner and he/she also needs to be approved by the bank through a credit check. I was in the exact same situation as you macbainz1 and I can understand how frustrating it is for you. For me, the bank approved my application but my parents(cos...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
I think there are two types of comm evaluation. One is for the college(You are placed into the comm course according to your mark. If you get a good mark, then you are settled with one regular comm course and if not, you have to take an extra course in conjunction) and another from the TC(during our...

Thank You Auger9!AUGER9 wrote:Your classes are already arranged. However, you still need to register. They will let you know when. The reason is that they split first years into 2 classes. The scheds are relatively the same, what you have in the morning, the other group does in the afternoon etc.

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Hey guys,
How does registration normally work for programs like AFM?
Back when I was in Seneca, Flight Program students were automatically placed into classes/schedules.
I was wondering if pre-coordinated programs like AFM work the same way everywhere.
Cheers! (Almost September!)

Re: What would you guys do?
Thanks guys, The only reason why I first preferred residence is because others were telling me that you get to meet lots of people, especially people coming from a similar program. I still have about a week left until the deadline for the residence fee is due. Hopefully, I could find some way. If no...

What would you guys do?
Hey there, As I have written in many threads, everything was going well and I was planned to move into the Confederation College residence in September. Unfortunately, both the Student line of credit and OSAP did not approve my application so I'm in a position where I can't pay off $6200 by August 1...

P.S // Btw, a person from Sibley Hall called me and said that they can only offer Super single with NO bathroom. Anybody have experience with that typical room-style? Did it ever interfere/bother with your morning schedule? (Shower etc etc) I'm going into the same living situation. I sent my papers...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Hey guys, (sorry to drag this topic forever!) Recently I've been digging FTGU and to tell you the truth, I have trouble understanding some of the things that are explained in the book. I didn't want to stress myself too much about it already because the school didn't even start, plus everything I've...

Re: Confed AFM Questions
Here's the most important lessons that I learned: 1. Stay in Rez first year, then move out when the summer hits (meet lots of people, but you'll get easily annoyed with people from other programs) 2. Day 1, find somebody with a car and strike a deal. $10/week for gas to carpool to school 3. Focus o...

Thanks above, for all the responses and as always. I chose the cheapest meal plan($2200CAD). Hopefully it will keep me away from starvation :D. I've also received a letter last week saying that the school begins Sept 8th . It's a little late this year I guess? How's the 2008 first year's summer clas...

It says on the website that you must maintain a 3.1 gpa does anybody know what that is in % i would guess like 75% is that right. I was told that the physics and mechanical stuff was pretty hard and thats were most students fall behind in. Is it pretty much grade 12 level stuff or is it much harder...
