Heres a different angle on the situation, Part of the problem is that we newbies to the industry, come on forums like this, and read that the average pay for an apprentice is $10 to $14/hour. We all beleive that this is the going rate, therefore, we accept the first job that pays in that range. I wa...

The Last Post
Since this will probably be the last posting of a topic in this Jetsgo area, I thought it may be fitting to bid fairwell to the company with a playing of the last post.

Don't forget that the FA's are the ones representing the company for 90% of the time. Here are a few things that you the paying custumer use to rate the quality of the flight: . Weather . How well you are served by the FA's . does the food taste good . does the FA have a nice ass :) . turbulence, or...

I'm not sure how much more noise it reduces, I don't have active noise reduction on mine, I am only going by what others have told me. but the theory of it, is that repeating noise is erased by the headset sending out the inverse sound wave. What i've been told is that it is worth the money. Can any...

I agree. I think the public is only getting a worse picture of aviation as a whole. Have you ever watched that show (not sure what its called) that follows southwest airlines ticket agents? Its amazing what some people think they have the right to do on an airplane. And it all stems from the fact th...

Post yer best joke!
As a crowded airliner is about to take off, the peace is shattered by a 5-year-old boy who picks that moment to throw a wild temper tantrum. No matter what his frustrated, embarrassed mother does to try to calm him down, the boy continues to scream furiously and kick the seats around him. Suddenly, ...

Theres been talk of the industry beeing swamped with new blood ready to take the reigns. I wonder if part of this problem is the flight schools. They advertise aviation as this great and wonderful place. they fill their classrooms beyond capacity. They tell you the whole time your there that the job...

I had an interview with them about 5 months ago. Very professional inteview. Textbook question...."what are your weeknesses, strengths, tell us about a time when you......" you know. Mine lasted about an hour. I imagine I was a little to cocky for their taste so I didn't get the job(I think I found ...

nothing wrong with paying dues (ie ramp/dock) so long as you get something out of it. I totally agree with you there. I don't have a problem with putting in the time/work/effort to move up the ladder. However, I know some that have been 'paying their dues' for more than two years now. I'm at the 18...

And when you buy the expensive tools, buy snap on. Even though some of the more expensive tools look the same, Sometimes only snap on will work/fit . A good example of this is the shrader valve on the retractable main gear for 206 wipline floats. Only SK and Snap-on sockets have thin enough walls t...

From the rumors I've heard, the noise issue is just an excuse. They are apparently trying to shut YXD down to increase revenues coming from YEG. Then they will be able to Demolish XD and build some new towers. I think I heard somewhere the plan was for 2010. One of the latest moves is that any traff...

I'm still in the starting blocks as far as my career is concerned. The Thing I can't stand (and am fighting) is this idea that you HAVE to go to northern Canada to start your career. Not just pilots but mechanics too. every one I talk to says "go north for a while and get some real experience, then ...

Over here we seem to have deluded ourselves into believing that nothing bad will ever happen in our rosy, sheltered little worlds... and if it does, then obviously there's someone else to blame for it.
