Re: Callback Timeline

Be patient folks. The operation is a small one and they are rapidly expanding.

After I had my interview with the CP it was approx 4 or 5 weeks before I heard back that I had gotten the job.

As someone else said, go with the "no news, is good news" philosophy

Home Isolation?

Just curious if crew on the East Coast (specifically Halifax) are required to isolate on their return home to Halifax. In my case I'm working in Ontario but will be residing in Halifax. My understanding is I can do a modified isolation in NS but it would be appreciated to hear anyone's first hand ac...

I interviewed around the same time and like you did all the online forms as well. No word so far, I’ve chatted with a few buddies who are already flying at CJ and they have not heard anything.

I have wondered why they dont just operate of their YHZ base and run an East Coast bubble airline. Tap into the market that AC pulled out of

I know that DaveP mentioned mainline jobs opening up this fall and was wondering if there was an update on this.
Thanks in advance

Pay rates are still the same as they have been for a few years now.
Upgrade is sitting at about 2.5 years
20 days work per month maximum with 10 days off. Depeninding on your schedule this might mean working less then 20 days.

Re: CYTZ landing slots?

My old man has flown to YTZ on his 180 (floats) while he was not doing charters (just boring holes in the sky) I believe he just contacted Trans Capital and they meet him at the float dock. I think they are the ones who maintain it.

Re: Porter

Classes for the remainder of this year have been cancelled. At this stage we have been told that hiring/upgrades will resume in the new year.

I am not sure about interviews, but I would imagine that they would hold them this year.

Re: Porter Opinions

I am currently flying as an FO with Porter, having joined in 2012. Great place to work, good group of people. WRT City Hall, etc I think many people from within have all asked themselves what the future will hold. At this stage it really is a guessing game but I personally believe we will remain on ...

Re: Porter's future

my definition of a contaminated rwy is the one we use for the Q400 and is defined by a rwy which is more than 25% covered in width, length with standing water, slush or snow or 100% compact snow yes I would agree that YTZ has a crfi several times throughout the winter but is not contaminated due to ...

The runway at CYTZ is rarely if ever contaminated and there is talk of having it grooved when/if the extension gets approved

Re: Porter bases

with regards to being based at YHZ with Porter I believe that the past 2 or 3 ground schools have only been for YTZ openings. The majority of the people who took the YHZ base are from out East and are happy to sit and wait for a left seat position to open but as someone earlier on mentioned that pro...

Re: Air New Zealand asking Immigration to import foreign pil

Having working for an Air NZ subsidiary I can pretty much guarantee that mainline will not accept candidates with those minimums. I would find it hard to believe that even the domestic turbo prop will take people with those times. When I got hired I have about 1200 hours TT. I know my mates back dow...
