That pretty well requires an autopilot for any real world utility. Save your retract stuff till you see how going forward works,as the kids age. Do a care...

Re: F-35 can't take the F-16 in a dog fight?
Way back when ... when Canada was buying 126 or whatever CF 18's, I thought they should buy say 60 odd CF18's and 200 odd F 16's for the same money.. Use the F 18's for "bush" and north stuff, and have a ball with the F 16's down south...

No one ever died from saying something stupid on the intercom, freq etc, but lots of folks wished they were dead, after doing it.

I just wish it was easier to do online, it's got more security than online banking I think. And because most of us use it so seldom, we can't remember how we got in last time.

Re: flying to U.S. which airport of entry
BUF is much friendlier and less apt to get the iag treatment (it pulls someone from the bridge and is a hassle for them), I personally like to clear close to border so if weather or my kids needing bathrooms etc cause a need to stop (even mechanicals etc) then I am good to stop, without a whole pile...

Jeff Skiles, he also does lots for aviation in his semi retirement, Writes a lot for EAA magazine. I would not hold your breath on getting accurate treatment in a movie, this is the country that made a decent movie about getting the enigma machine from a german submarine, but other than a few words ...

Re: Looking for an Accident Report from 1978
Transport used to print hard copies of all canadian accidents. I read em all in the 60's and 70's as a kid. they came in a sort of cheap book.

Re: Avgas prices
Most small airports only take a tank or 2 a year, and many in ontario hardly sell any fuel all winter. It will be a while before they get the stuff they paid(plenty for) in sept out of the tank and get some cheap stuff in to the tank. then prices will show up lowering at the pump

Re: Missing north of Peterborough
Folks building time. Night VFR in a 150 ottawa to toronto CAN work.(if you have to!) BUT since you are building time anyway, why dont you plan the 400 series highway corridor. Then there are a beautiful string of lights pointing the way, and even if it gets a bit lower, or rains a bit, you can see t...

What a shame, now folks, 8pm (almost 3 hours after dark) on a kinda cruddy evening, is no time to be running low on fuel , in the haliburton highlands. in a 150.

Re: Mount Royal Engine Failure
I try to let it snap back , and then wait 15 or so secs to make sure it is not dripping. That is what I currently do, until of course one day i forget to. The twin comanche has drains that are actuated inside the cabin. I am no fan of those, you have to go out to make sure they close, and to retriev...
