No class planned for November. But this recent class did not fill all vacancies so likely there will be more hiring right around the corner in the new year. Stay tuned Stay Positive.

Re: CANJET

- DEC means - Direct Entry Captain. And CanJet is not hiring DEC's. They have enough experience within. i.e ex-skyservice guys. - Company has said no more groundschools for the year. But that can always change... - Yes they are taking in contract pilots this year. Yes some of them are unemployed ca...

Re: Pending DUI and effect on WJ

A few years ago when working an airport job making my way into the industry, I watched Canadian Customs agents now CBSA(CANADA BORDER SERVICES AGENCY) refuse entry to those with alcohol related driving offenses. I asked a CBP agent (US CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION) what their position was- they hav...

Re: 2011 Ground Schools

As for the 757 (My source isn't HR on this. Warning wild rumors.) 2 in YYC and maybe some in YVR. There should be 11 this season. Skyservice ran 10 757s and 11 A320s when they were doing the Sunquest Charters... Looks like there's room to grow for Chorus. From yesterday's Chorus Aviation Q1 confere...

Definitely no secret that hiring is halted. Did you get a gs offer for july or informed that late july is the next class and your in the pool? Just wondering what else HR has specified.

Re: 2011 Ground Schools

Only one more GS is currently scheduled to follow the May 9 GS. If u defer, who's to say when the next one will happen? The May 30 GS had confirmed names a week ago, so there would be no deferring unless there was an extreme case. What I'm wondering is where all this talk of no more classes is comi...

Re: Deferring Ground School

I hesitate to even ask this on AV Canada but this thread has been very good so far so WTH! Does anyone know if it's possible to defer a Ground School offer? It sounds a little odd, I know. I'm hoping for a call one-way or the other with regards to the June GS. I've been told that HR should have the...

Re: 2011 Ground Schools

Why would one be worrying about deferring a groundschool date if there is significant talk of classes being cancelled for the time being. Just wondering where the information of Wednesday May25 is coming from and also if one has spoken to HR just recently about deferring a start date there must be m...

Re: Jazz is Done.

I guess we now find out what it's like to work for a company like Colgan, Comair, et al. I think the new Colgan contract is actually quite good. I ran into one of the Q400 Captains about a month ago, he said with their new contract he is going from about $70 HR to $103 an hour this year. Thats per ...

Re: Rumor

Rumor. I have heard this from quite a few people lately. Even Jaques Kafavian. Apparently Georgian will do all the domestic flying and get the Emb and Airbus and Jazz gets all the overseas flying. WJ is getting A380s and will start nonstop service YKL-NRT and BJG. All mainline AC pilots will be giv...

Re: Air Canada 113

It sure would be nice if AC could change their J/S policy to accomodate more than 1-2 recip' crewmembers. I know you guys have to pay at WJ to go standby but we'll take you all if there is room. Although I've been lucky to get on once or twice, I've shown at your gate a few times only to be told no...

Re: hiring at Jazz!!!

FOk! Dont feel too bad Jay. If they've already set up an interview with you then that's good news. Youre probably one of the first to have been called for an interview, hopefully if it all works in your favour you could be sitting in one of the first groundschools. Hey C-HRIS if you had to guess th...
