Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I'm in a tough situation. Been waiting for AC to respond back from my interview for 5 months and recently got another offer better than my current job at Express. If I got accepted at AC I would still go there over the other offer but I also want to be honest to the other company. Does anyone have ...

Article excerpt and links below. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/business/article-air-canadas-ceo-makes-527-million-after-cashing-in-stock-options/ MONTREAL, Aug. 6, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada said today that during...

Re: AC offer AT $13 per share

Not to mention the Azores bird is still in the fleet. Is the pilot? I seem to recall he was a former drug smuggler. Not sure how the Transat background check missed that. 2016, two Transat A330 guys, arrested in Scotland for being intoxicated then getting away with it because of a glitch , authorit...

Re: 17 year TA?

We had a great chance to have solid Jazz fella in charge of Alpa Canada but two LEC Representatives at Jazz felt a Westjet pilot who has his application in at AC was a better choice. It was definitely time for change at the Canada Board. Disagree. Brian Shury was the only right choice for the posit...

Re: Will it pass?

I work 13 days a month, make $100k right now and don't have a degree. I'd say I'm doing just fine and enjoy my life in Canada. Close to friends and family. I'll take another 17 years of that, vs uncertainty especially in aviation. Honestly, who am I to argue about what is good and what is not? Afte...

Re: Air Canada and Westjet...what a joke

Policies are now being released for hospitals and they are not implementing any sort of ban. It's simply "do it on your own time, off the property, be fit for work and there's no problems". Perhaps these medical professionals have a better idea of the true effects of cannabis vs. The old boys in air...

Re: Cannabis Policy ???

You should have zero tolerance for people who show up under the influence. That's not what I'm saying, I will agree that we need to see a larger body of work on this issue if anything is to be imposed. The Canadian Forces have come out with their policy. Air Canada has gone beyond it. Why hasn't Tr...

Re: Gloom & Doom Q2 outlook...are you kidding?

Todays Q1 announcement is telling on behalf of management...Time after time we see Airline Executives manufacture problems and issue "Earnings Warnings" during contract negotiations. Quite frankly this is insulting and the oldest labour trick in the book! Don't be fooled, every airline does this du...
