Re: AIFs question when jumpseating
With the constant increase in AIF's and charging it to everyone they can, it is no wonder certain airports are starting to look like art galleries with cascading waterfalls.. I had the exact opposite impression regarding the A irport I mprovement F ees... Where is all this money being spent when yo...

Re: Flying Jumpseat (Stby) in Europe using a Canadian RAIC
One of my Transat colleagues jumpseated on Air France for free by using his Canadian RAIC not too long ago. It was on a flight from Paris to Asia. he listed himself right at the checkin counter, no MyIDtravel required... So it DOES happen! See this is what I am talking about. I don’t understand how...

Re: One of the truly good guys, Wayne McLeod has passed away.
Sad to read the passing of Wayne at such a young age. He was a good guy, a good boss. Always available in case you needed him. I'll remember him answering the phone in the middle of the night for a silly question I had once again in my Keewatin days... My thoughts to his wife, family and friends! T.

Re: "Three possible Transat suitors say they are not interested in acquiring struggling airline"
You do realize that “sticking it” re: “setting the parking brake” or “disrupting flights” for the passengers is NOT a productive manner to go about enacting meaningful change? Right?!? And what has been productive so far...? The many articles in the newspaper, the interviews on tv (that i have both...

Re: "Three possible Transat suitors say they are not interested in acquiring struggling airline"
At this point nearly every carrier in Canada has begun to weigh the pros and cons of CCAA/ And we are all seating at home watching the boat sink... It is time to go -again- to Ottawa and occupy days and nights the lawn in front of the parlement. It is time to go to the major airports, occupy and di...

Re: Where is Canada airline bailout? The deal was supposed to be ‘imminent’ — so why are we still waiting?
Like many who are furloughed in this industry, I've been receiving emails from my union for months now which have stated that a bailout package is imminent, and yet we've seen no sign that a deal is any closer to being reached. As to the following statement from the Deputy PM's Office that a bailou...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Updated Purchase Price at $5 per share
Sorry to hear that. I remember they started hiring last fall(if I remember correctly). How many did they end up hiring before Covid hit the industry? Not sure how many they hired last fall... However what i do know is that the last guy on the seniority list (except for a few management ppl who rema...

Re: Airlines need to shut down to survive
The quarantine for all people entering Canada and entry restrictions for foreigners has been extended to Sept 30. Another nail in Canadian aviation, aerospace and hospitality industry..... That’s enough!!! They are acting as if they want to stand by until the pandemic is over... What’s the plan? 0 ...

Re: Airlines need to shut down to survive
From the link above... To date, the Government of Canada is not aware of any cases attributed to passenger-to-passenger transmission on a flight to or from Canada. Yet they decided to shut down an entire industry... Why don't they simply test everybody who enters the country/province? Some countries...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
I don't believe that Transat Pilots have won the lottery with the merger. While Air Canada pilot are paid more, they also work more. TS pilots average 400 hours/year while AC's fly 600 to 700(rouge). Totally agree on that one...! The Transat lifestyle is pretty hard to beat in my opinion. It's hard...
