Re: On holding more than one license...

The real crappy part of this is when you are applying for jobs... I have had my M1/M2 for many years... use to be A4,A6 I believe and have been doing avionics since graduation in 1988, hold multiple type avionics courses and was turned down on a job because they wanted an E guy.. so the person hired...

Re: E license after M training!!

Transport Canada will not issue an E or S license rating over your M1/M2 license rating. You will see guys with an E license upgrade to an M2 rating therefore holding an M2/E license but if you have the M1/M2 rating they will not issue you an E or s rating. I have 25 years avionics experience holdin...

Dash8 yaw damper engagement.

A quick question for all the Dash8 captains regarding Y/D engagement time. I have asked a few previous operators as to when they engage the Y/D on the dash 8 and have had mixed answers. Without naming names when do you engage the Y/D before or after Take off..??? Thanks in advance.

Re: AME Wages - AME's Unite!!

Red Seal certificates are used for inter provincial working acceptance and since we hold a federal license there is no requirement to have red seal. In saying this I have come across alot of job postings that if you have any red seal certs you are allowed to apply so it would be good to be included.

Re: Hawkair recession

Long time EX employee here. Yes the Hawk is dead and we were dealt with in a very impolite manner. Declaring Bankruptcy at 2:00 pm before the 4:00 deadline screwing the employees out of their last paycheque was a really unclassy move. Especially after saying you would step up and forward part of the...

Its not rocket science.... you can only fly a route with 2 0r 3 people on it for so long... Lose an A/C and you will have to downsize the staff requirements. Its aviation everyone, Ive been at this along time and know one thing for sure if you are worried about losing your job it means you still hav...

More time restrictions will definitely hurt the smaller operator since the pool of pilots keep shrinking.I work for an operator that uses split duty days and I can tell you that there's are definitely not resting when they should....shopping walking around town...etc..It seems that everyone wants th...

Its the headwinds that are the issue... Coming back that is!..Nothing like the feeling of an approach into a dark foggy Reyakivik with only the lights of your low level caution light in both tanks to give you a start...

Yeah it was an Air Nostrum 315.....They are happy with the 1000s but are like a used carlot as they are kind of working on an exchange basis with Bombardier. They have a REALLY good deal on alot of -200s.....LOL.

Re: WestJet Starts Regional

Just came back from Spain with a -300 and had a stopover at Exeter for some issues to be dealt with from Flybe and the guys there told me they are getting rid of all their 400s and going to Embraers.. So there is a big pile of 400s available. Who knows maybe WS will just buy up some smaller carriers...

I find it amusing how so many people on this forum have it all figured out when they obviously dont work for the company and fill in the blanks with their own impaired inuendo......the businessmen who invested in a struggling airline bought it for nothing have just sold it for a very sizeable profit...
