Re: Speed limits and STARs

If you are cleared for an arrival (Star) either in your Flight plan route or sequencing to an approach then yes that is an ATC clearance.

It’s no wonder you’re still an instructor with that attitude. HR would spot that a mile away. Sadly young pilots are victim to your positive outlook.

Re: More grist for the F18 replacement mill..

What Canada really needs but unfortunately cannot afford and is out of production at this time is the F22 Raptor. No. What Canada needs is for the damn politicians give the procurement process to find a fighter to those that know what the hell they're talking about. That would leave almost all of us...

Re: King Air at Gillam, MB

I believe they declared a fuel emergency shortly before actual event. Fuel gauges on this aircraft are not great and are MELable. Been there done that. If they were, there is no cockpit indication of fuel on board and first indication would be the fuel pressure light. For whatever reason they didn’t...

In my opinion If it was fuel contamination it would happen much earlier in the flight. How long is the flight from Iqaluit to Gilliam ? 2 hrs ??

Re: Sunwing Runway Overrun - Belfast 2017

So when does the PIC say shit this isn't right and either abort or push the throttles to the stops. To stagger along for 4 miles is absurd. Are they so bound by SOP's that they can't do this? What ever happened to feeling what the airplane is doing? Never flown that size of aircraft but I would thin...

I would guess he was an engineer who’d been given clearance by company to start aircraft engines and taxi to run up area as part of his job to do systems checks.

Just try getting a job in the oil patch today without a drug test. Of course you are within your rights to refuse but then be prepared to not work there. Why should our line of work put us above that?

Re: Jazz lands YAM with plows on runway

I think it would be easy to have the radios on these vehicle set up to broadcast on the MF any time they are on the runway or within 100 feet of it. A simple " vehicle on runway" broadcast every 30 seconds might solve the problem. Once vehicle was clear another message indicating so.

A little advice for you crazyaviator. You are obviously in way over your head because now you are trying to categorize Cowboys into good and bad. Wasn't at all what your original post stated. So here's the advice. The first thing to do when you find yourself in a hole...............stop digging.

The north is littered with wrecks that lay where they crashed. Insurance companies don't seem to clean them up. I can think of 6 off hand in northern BC.

Re: Citation down North of Kelowna

In the case of a C-500 adding power approaching the stall will actually push the nose down due no engines being high and aft. I find it hard to believe that debilitating ice could form in 4 min when much of that time was flown in above freezing temps. It was +4 on the ground and the aircraft wouldn'...

No insurance , still paying it off , can't afford the hassle of being without while insurance drags its heals , valuables in the car , and the list goes on. Why...
