Re: Snowbirds
I wouldn’t cross the street to watch these arrogant pricks. Had first hand dealings with them and classless is a word that comes to mind. There’s a trail of broken homes whenever they leave a city. Compare them to the Angels or Thunderbirds or the solo airforce pilots and you’ll know what I mean.

Re: Poorly Flown Approaches
Really have to wonder what was going on in that cockpit.
Most likely a total of 1000 hrs between the 2 pilots.
Loss of situational awareness I’m thinking.

Re: Terrible news for the Air Canada work force...
The generation of pilots that are at the bottom of the ladder will never see aviation as it was in 2019 in their lifetime. The younger generation is scared to death of damn near everything and that will keep enough of them From flying. If we get back to 50 % in 10 years I’d be surprised. NINTY % of ...

Medical Ext
Just heard from my Doc. Any medicals expiring between April 1 and July 1 are extended. He said wording was a bit vague and he wasn’t sure if extended to Aug 1 or September 1.

I would guess 95% of the population doesn’t know about the Russian accident and the rest have long forgotten about it.

We know the company was VFR only. Where does it say the Helo no longer had a functioning IFR platform and that the pilot was unable to fly IFR ?

I’m wondering with the rate of decent and the fact he missed clearing the top of the hill by 20-30 feet If he might have seen a hole to go through and missed the pull out due to high rate of decent.

If you are cleared for an arrival (Star) either in your Flight plan route or sequencing to an approach then yes that is an ATC clearance.

It’s no wonder you’re still an instructor with that attitude. HR would spot that a mile away. Sadly young pilots are victim to your positive outlook.

Re: More grist for the F18 replacement mill..
What Canada really needs but unfortunately cannot afford and is out of production at this time is the F22 Raptor. No. What Canada needs is for the damn politicians give the procurement process to find a fighter to those that know what the hell they're talking about. That would leave almost all of us...

Re: King Air at Gillam, MB
I believe they declared a fuel emergency shortly before actual event. Fuel gauges on this aircraft are not great and are MELable. Been there done that. If they were, there is no cockpit indication of fuel on board and first indication would be the fuel pressure light. For whatever reason they didn’t...

Re: King Air at Gillam, MB
In my opinion If it was fuel contamination it would happen much earlier in the flight. How long is the flight from Iqaluit to Gilliam ? 2 hrs ??
