Where is the most likely base for new hires right now? Is there any rhyme or reason as to where new hires are likely to be based?

Re: 777 Partners
I know of an accountant who moonlights reviewing the pay stubs of Air Canada pilots. She collects 10% of all of the missing money she identifies. I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned before. Air Canada with its (intentionally) complicated and convoluted expense system short changes employees constan...

If an aircraft owner meets the requirements to provide instruction for a float rating can they charge money for the instruction?

Unless I am misunderstanding something the carbon tax will also have a huge benefit for any American airlines flying into Canada.

Is there anyone here from Alberta or BC who rents out (or knows who does) floatplanes? I'm an 8,000 hour King Air pilot.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a good place to rent aircraft in the lower mainland of BC? Preferably closer to Chilliwack than Vancouver.

Re: Time Building Question
Something to add is that I often come across people who are in need of getting their ATPL but don't have enough night X/C PIC. When I used my airplane for personal reasons I tried to fly at night as much as possible so that this was not a concern when I reached the other hour requirements for the AT...

Re: Time Building Question
Having purchased an airplane to fly in for fun and to build time definitely worked for me. Got me not only my first job, but my second one also. Airplanes also appreciate in value, so in the end the price it sold for earned some extra cash to offset the operational costs incurred during ownership ma...

Re: Career in Canada Vs. USA
Assuming you want to fly airlines, here's my 2 cents. I would start the career in the states (which I did) and then come fly in Canada. Unless things have changed dramatically (which is entirely possible, it's been quite some time since I was there), you can instruct there for a year or less, progre...

Re: Any experience with World Vision or Child Sponsorship?
I have really enjoyed sponsoring some kids through Compassion Canada. We send letters back and forth and the kids are truly overjoyed with the help, and their families are being helped too. 83% of the money goes to the kids and communities, 11.6% goes to fund raising, and 5.4% goes to administration.

Re: Advice for Mexico?
I just got back from Cancun and enjoyed it alot. We stayed at "The Royal Cancun" and it was great - awesome food, good service, nice rooms, nice beach (including beach waitresses), and good weather. $599 including air from Westjet Vacations.
