Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
That' is incorrect. They do not have the power to award or modify seniority at Air Canada.

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
I am part of the the 295 and as of the last bid at AC that's enough of a difference for me to be able to hold left seat 320 YYZ had I been hired in order if they met the contract obligations. That's a monumental difference in money and lifestyle from YR1 flat pay. But there's no way to quantify tha...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
285 were supposed to flow in 2022 that didn’t. There is another grievance filed for the 2023 missed hiring. "Supposed to?" How do you determine which of the next 285 pilots were "supposed" to be hired? This entire argument is full of holes. It’s not an argument. It’s a violation of a contractual hi...

So of the 285 pilots affected by this whole debacle, how many have not yet been hired by AC?

Re: Current Group 1 IFR?
Hypothetically if someone out of flying school (commercial, M-IFR) was building time doing a VFR job for 10-14 mos, and now had 1,000 hrs tt and was hoping to get on at Jazz… (that sort of thing🤔). The reason it's a requirement is because they want to hire IFR proficient pilots. If you've been bomb...

What kind of question is this? Why would they hire you without one?twinpratts wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 12:44 pm Anyone else experience this? ‘Current Group 1 IFR required BEOFRE getting hired? Is this a thing now? And also: do any other regionals require this?

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
We’re always separate companies till it’s an AC pilot asking for the jumpseat home then getting pissed when a baby face jazz pilot gets it instead lol…it might be a shitty contract but it’s a contract none the less between two parties and it was violated and massive damages to individuals careers h...

Re: Best aircraft for 1 day pairings?
How does fleet assignment work with AC? Do you get a list of all airplanes available and you draw a number from a hat to get a seniority number and pick what's on the board in order? Is it the same for bases? (pretty much like Jazz?) Do you have to be lucky to have options for WB FO or RP on WB? Or...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
The only blacklisting that is happening is that if you were a complete effing idiot at ANY company, then yea, you’re probably getting skipped. Exactly. There is no blacklist. Look at the facts, the new hire stats are readily available to any AC pilot. Some might want to believe there is a list beca...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Haha dude you have no idea what you’re talking about. If you quit Jazz, you don’t end up in the OTS pool. You end up in a pool called “OTS but they have Jazz on their resume so we’re blacklisting them” Doubt AC gives a shit unless they try to go from Jazz - elsewhere - AC under 3 months. They care ...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Except it is different… AC doesn’t own 10% of WestJet or flair or swoop or Pasco ect…. those pilots don’t fly Air Canada passengers, in an airplane that says Air Canada on the side wearing an Air Canada uniform, under a contract with Air Canada. We tried to get a pay raise and our first raise was a...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
The planet where a CDN pilot showed up for his first day at AC with seniority. This countered your point. It’s unlikely for jazz but not impossible. Proves my point even further. Canadian pilots became AC pilots when they merged. AC is not merging with Jazz, it's no different than a pilot coming fr...

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
This entire argument is predicated on the assumption that it was AC who didn’t honor the 60% figure. What if it was Jazz who put a stop to it, so they actually had pilots to fly their airplanes? (The more likely scenario.) in that case, why would the pilots have any recourse against AC whatsoever?

Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
Those pilots at Canadian got their seniority# from their first day at AC? That was a merger between two airlines. Re: Grievance update for the 285ish former Jazz pilots affected by Flow
The seniority number you have is what is assigned to you when you are hired at AC. Pretty simple. Seems to be a lot of people in this thread who don't understand that.
