Re: private airstrips in the campbellville area?
There are a couple just off Hwy 24 between Guelph and Erin. One is about 300ft from the road with hangars clearly visible. Its just west of hwy 24 and Trafalgar Rd. near the public school.

Re: Please help
I did the honors specialization in geography program at UWO and then in 3rd year decided I wanted to fly. I ended up finishing the program and graduating. After getting my CPL and MIFR I found out that the aviation lifestyle wasn't for me (or at least the parts that I saw up north). I'm now back in ...

Re: Crazy Cloud Formations
The explanation I read was that it had to do with downdrafts coming down on either side of the Bay of Carpentaria overnight and causing a lateral moving lifting mechanism much like a wave. Imagine a big wave of cold air coming down and pushing the warm moist air up and over it. But hey I could be wr...

Re: I never thought I'd say this....
I'm leaving aviation as a primary profession. There are many factors that influenced this decision, and many have been discussed in this thread. It was not an easy decision to come to and I spoke to many people on both sides of the debate before coming to a conclusion. I DO NOT REGRET trying to get ...

They are not asking for the money up front. Its just if you leave within a year you have to make good on the bond.
Thanks for the info.

PA31 Bond
I did a little search and found that a 5k one year bond is somewhat reasonable for a PPC on a Navajo. What about a 5k one year bond for a PCC? Could someone explain the exact differences between a PPC and PCC as well? Thanks!

Re: What makes an aircraft IFR certified?
Ugh, the examiner asked me "Is this aircraft IFR certified?" in regards to the twin we were going to use. The answer is that there is no IFR certification but you can use it for IFR flight if all the requirements are met. There is no document that says "This aircraft is IFR certified" that I've ever...

Re: In Flight Engine Shutdown
I got to do that exercise twice! There was a mix up with instructors and one thought I had not done it yet so we did it again. Good thing we were pointed at the airport and had lots of altitude because that engine did not restart. It was a great experience dragging it in on one engine but if we had ...
