Re: Sunwest
I'm not saying I would take the first job that came at me. And I never said that those direct entry flight positions don't exist. I simply wanted to enquire about sunwest and their job ads, and if they had an internal progression to the flight line. They seem like a reputable company. Thanks everyon...

Re: Sunwest
Rough translation......just another cheap skate operation getting cheap labour, using the old "dangling carrot" method of sucking in low time pilots. Always thought slave labour went out after the American Civil War? And, still the dumb pilots line up. :bear: :bear: So, what would your best advice ...

Sunwest
I have a question, and I'm sure we'll all beat the topic to death like any other thread about working the ramp, or comparable ground job. But does anyone know if Sunwest Aviation promotes from within from their ground crew? I've seen a few postings recently from them but was wondering if anyone has ...

Re: Good timing to get Instructor Rating?
I am in the same boat. I have been applying to places for ramp positions with no luck. I have 256TT Multi IFR. Have decided to get my instructor rating as well. I am in southern ontario though. For me, it's the best option at the moment. There are so many pilots out of work that when things do pick ...

Re: PIC single engine piston, or Co pilot Multi Turbine time?
I would take anything at this point. Is there anything even out there? I'm debating doing my instructor rating, but even then you're not guaranteed a job.Gumby wrote:Take anything you can get right now. ANYTHING!![]()

Re: PIC single engine piston, or Co pilot Multi Turbine time?

PIC single engine piston, or Co pilot Multi Turbine time?
Hello everyone, I was just wondering for someone like me, whether it is better to start out logging single engine piston time as PIC. Or to get a job working on the ramp somewhere for 2 years, then be put right seat on their multi turbine aircraft. At this time I only have 253TT and 30 multi, so I'm...

Re: Family Issues: What is the effect on your aviation career?
You definately need someone with a lot of patience and understanding to stand by you. I can say that just getting through my flight training while working full time was a testament to my families.
