Re: LASIK

I got PRK done at Bochner about 7 months ago. Really happy, the docs there have had a few people go through that needed the TC paperwork filled out and they had no problems. Took me about 45 days to get my medical back, less if you're doing LASIK and not PRK. Would recommend Bochner - not cheap but...

I've read some of the older posts re: LASIK and I'm wondering if anyone has more recent reviews/ thoughts on the process.

Re: Feb 9th announcement

There's a thread on Airliners.net that talks about this - apparently someone in the know claims that it's definitely NOT a half maple leaf.
So I guess that eliminates number 2.

Do you know what their cancellation policy is? I'm wondering if I can book a whole bunch in advance.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

At least at Jazz, remember quite a few new hires don't have ATPLs/ 2000 TT so I think the wait will be much less than predicted in that spreadsheet.

It's for sure, for the new 787 livery.

Although I hope it's none of the above. Can't go from one shi**y livery to another.

Same applies to all the other crew rooms.

Asking about hotels, not crashpads.

Re: YUL Commuter Hotels

I've heard about the Fairfield Marriott, and the Comfort Inn. Not sure what the prices are, but the Comfort Inn is about 5-7$ cheaper.

Shuttles included in both.

Re: Air Canada Pool

Does anyone know what the latest training report looks like? Wondering what the next ground school may offer (I know it's not concrete, but just wondering if there's an educated guess for openings other than the 320/EMJ.) given routes starting summer 2017.

Re: American Express Platinum card: Benefits vs Cost

As a commuter this card pays for itself in food, coffee and the occasional alcoholic beverage. If they ever start enforcing the boarding card thing, I think AMEX will lose a lot of customers in a hurry. Very easy to get a standby boarding pass  Yeah I know a few who do it that way. But honestl...

Re: American Express Platinum card: Benefits vs Cost

I used to have the business platinum (399) and switched to the personal platinum (699). I don't have a small business, but when I applied for a card, I put in the name of a business that doesn't exist, with the address the same as my residential (making it an out-of-home side job.) No questions aske...

Re: Convering my ATPL to FAA

I'm sure (the airline) they would take care of the Visa paper work as will. Can't see anyone not working there without a visa. I would be very surprised if a US regional airline hired someone without the pre-existing necessary legal authorization to work in the US (i.e. non-sponsored Visa or green ...

Convering my ATPL to FAA

Has anyone done it since the rules changed last year? Just looking for a simplified procedure (I've read the FAA pdf that's 30 pages long), and an idea about the cost of the process.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
