Or...pilots who are unable to fly the plane in a comfortable manner.

Strikes make for a terrible experience for everyone involved, but good luck and congratulations on sticking together. No doubt every pilot working in this industry will be watching very closely.

Re: First Air - reduces Edmonton flights, adds YVQ
Why is there a bid form for YEG f/os on their website? Is this a formality for moving people around?
I hope the laid off pilots are back to work soon.

Re: Air Mikisew shut down?
Whats going on,there seems to be alot of 703 compinies shut down by transport recently,it sounds like they are on a witch hunt and 99% of the problems are paper work.It seems they want the ops.manager and C.P in the office doing paper work instead of the flight line. This will not work for all the s...

I agree. $40,000 for a twin turbine captain position in YYC with that schedule is terrible. Shame.

Re: 6500 hours for an interview?
Can anyone who has updated their profile recently explain to me how to update things like flight time, etc on the application site? The website only lets me update certain things on my profile, but I can't find the area that asks for flight time, FMS time, etc...
Thanks.

Re: Interesting findings on Perimeter gear-up March/09
Thats funny, flying by YTH tonight, Perimeter declared an emergency due to gear problems. CYYQ - CYTH 5 pax and 2 Crew and 1200 lbs of fuel. Listening in on the YTH MF, FSS guys were out with a spot light seeing if the gear was down as they made 3 fly-by's. seems to me that this outfit has numerous...

Re: Questions - Fifth Estate Safety Issues...
I am shocked and amazed that TC has not done something about duty limitations. In respect to medevac flying, being expected to fly a 14/15 hour day within roughly 30 minutes notice and not knowing when your going to get the call is insane. A day or two, fine; but after 7 days straight of that schedu...

I'd think that it would have a significant effect on those among us who commute.
Anyone have any links or more information? Just heard about it through a friend, but can't seem to find anything official.

Non-rev'ing a taxable benefit?
Heard a rumour of some proposed tax legislation that would make cheap/free travel for airline employees a taxable benefit. Anyone know anything about this?

Well if you don't want to work in the bush anymore, I would recommend getting the MIFR.

Would someone be willing to PM me the name of the individual responsible for hiring/interviewing?
Also, would it improve my chances of getting an interview if I were to make a trip to Kanata?
Thanks!

Re: Professionalism/phraseology
The proper way would be to say CYAB at (time) Destination. By broadcasting that it is "NEXT" it infers that it is just the next reporting point, not your destination. Fair enough. However, I think in most parts of the country (the north) where this is being used, your next "reporting point" is your...

Talking about Radio phraseology, it always amazes me when guys will report at FL xx OH.. O is a letter. If you listen to ATC they will almost invariably reply; check you level at FL xx ZER0. The other thing that I find really irritating is when guys are off of somewhere and do a blind broadcast say...
