Re: WestJet flights to London prompting a wave of complaints
He should perhaps read and learn from the poster "Dagger"'s comments. Now there's someone who's forgotten more about the industry than Realitychex will ever know... With all due respect to Dagger, a simple look at their respective resumes would tell a different tale. One is a PR/Advertising guy and...

If execs really wanted to know how stupid pilots are, they'd visit an airline forum. Usually the posts with the term "douchebags" in them are a good starting point.anonymity wrote:the execs get to keep laughing about how stupid pilots really are

His job is to push things as much as possible to raise the stock price as much as possible , what does he care , worse comes to worse , a union gets in the execs get to blame him , fire him and he gets a 10 mill handshake , would you really care if that's what waited for you if you &(":ed your job ...

Re: Saretsky's legacy
Saretsky's legacy is going to be that he was a great numbers guy who brought a few years of record profits but ultimately destroyed the culture and brought in unions. Him and Ferio just can't keep themselves from choking the goose that lays the golden eggs Gregg is the face of the company, but he e...

Q1 Operating Margin
- WS - 16.91%
- AC - 3.4%
There are some good things starting to happen at AC, but when it comes to profitability, they rank the lowest of the NA majors.

Re: Our Trip on Westjet..??
Your seats are not assigned until you check in, maximum 24 hours before the flight. If you look at the seat selection tool now only those seats for which passengers have paid to select them will show as occupied. So therefore, if all the aisles and windows were paid for, then it's completely possib...

Doesn't the prospect of paying for a particular product and getting an inferior one without choice cause you some degree of trepidation? If you heard your favourite steak restaurant all of the sudden started bringing people a hotdog when they ordered a prime cut steak, would you say "oh, well, I'll...

Wj as most wj employees who've been around for a while all tell you it's dead. That doesn't mean we don't do things well it's just we've changed. I wouldn't be too concerned about us faltering just yet... My point is not "Westjet is dead"............I meant the Westjet that modeled itself after an ...

Re: AC to start LHR-AMS-LHR using 319
I wonder if this is a preemptive strike against WestJet. If their foray into the DUB market goes well, WestJet are on record as saying it will determine whether they pursue further business in Europe and they recently advised that the DUB sales were better than expected, so I'm sure AC is looking at...

Re: Flight Attendant Announcements
This article and included video sum it up for me. In my 20 years in the airline business, I've seen numerous studies that suggest that professional and monotone safety demos do a great job of the bare minimum... advising passengers what the regulatory agencies require. Unfortunately, these straight ...

So often, I'm reminded that a huge percentage of people in the airline business are total idiots. It's so sad. I often wonder if good people get changed by the industry, or if the industry just attracts idiots.
Hard to say sometimes.
Loopa, keep the positive attitude!

According to: http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/agc/ReAllocation/media/LGAABundle_Bids.pdf The high bid for both LGA bundles were $32,000,050.01. The 2nd highest bid for both was $17,600,001. I'm guessing the $32 mil bidder (Jet Blue) only wanted 1 bundle so the other bundle ...

Re: westjet secures LGA
LGA is going to be a very strategic hub for WS partnerships with AA and DL. If it turns out that the slots are too much, WS can sub lease them to any of the carriers who were eligible to bid during this auction (ie. Southwest, Jetblue, Allegiant, Frontier, etc...) after 6 months of operation. Based ...
