Re: Layoffs

No pilot layoffs at Westjet, just reduced blocks. However, for many ACers on flat, EI may be the better deal. How sad.

Just in terms of where they might be for interview vs ground school offering time. speedah, were they OTS or PML? I’ve herd they are running lots of PML with a few OTS fill-ins currently. I i...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Any idea if the april 22nd class has been filled? The April 22nd class is only 2 weeks away, calls went out as noted previously. Presuming the next course is May 13th if on the 3 week cycle. As far as I know, no one has received a call for this date yet. Would calls be expected to go out this week ...

Re: CYPW gear up Ho

There must be more to this than a gear failure, otherwise I'm sure they would have returned to YVR for many reasons...long runway, no trees etc, emerg. services, company base and mtx., etc. Glad to hear everyone is alright.

Here's another quick scenario...

Say if your "goal" is to go to AirCanada.

Is it better to go corporate to try to get the jet, efis etc time?

or...

Are you better to try for Jazz in hopes of going to AC.

I have always heard that going to Jazz decreases your chances of going to AC...

You must be an ex-Navair or current Carson Air Pilot eh? I've heard they are long days.

8 hours prone, plus sufficient time to travel to and from work, personal hygiene, meals etc.

I heard that they haven't even hired the pilots yet!

The contract does take effect Jan. 1 right?

A budy of mine went to CAE Simuflite and it took over 2 weeks just to get the pre approval for fingerprinting and acceptance to train in the USA.

They better get there shit together!

Throw the saddle on top of the blow hole, hold on tight, and let 'er rip!...

That's how you become an Orca Captain.
