My understanding is that having your A&P will not help you for your AME license. You will be required to start from ground zero.

Probably a good question to ask your PMI or your local TC office inspector. LOL The answer may vary from region to region, and even inspector-to-inspector. From my past experience with TC, get your answer IN WRITING.

Standard hole saw for a drill works well, turning at high speed with low pressure on the panel. Make a template out of lexan or something first to make sure the holes are in the right location.
