When travelling through Nebraska in April we happened upon a very good museum for the Strategic Air Command. Here is a Blackbird.

One advantage is We can share all our pensions with each other and nobody else. :smt014 :smt008 :prayer: Bob I'd like to add to this. I purposely rejected world flying, far north or f...

Re: Cat & Doc
I used to have a turntable (yes, I'm old enough to have owned such a device.. and not when it became retro-cool to own one) that had a button on it which when pressed, would cause the arm lift momentarily and move the needle exactly one groove to the left. Wonderful feature! AvCanada should have on...

I am impressed at the strength of the fence that contained the rock chunk; considering the force developed in its fall.

Re: Floatplane door open in flight
This door opening reminds me of how to close a door on a Beaver if it opens in flight, right from the pilot's seat. No matter which door. I will explain it if nobody else does by tomorrow. And nobody touching it. Bob :?:  Open the Pilots door about 2 inches. The low pressure created in the ca...

Re: Flight times.
Supposing a pilot flies about 30,000 hours in a lifetime of professional flying over about 40 to 45 years. Just divide that time in thirds. That would make low time under 10,000, mid time 10,000 to 20,000, and high time from 20,000 to the finish of career. Please note that its all in the perspective...

I concoure with the colonel about the glasses, even with small arms. i wear my eye glasses pushed up over top of my earphones.
I reiterate, DC's are the pits in a Beaver, yet everybody seems to use them. The clarity worked very well.

Re: What's your hearing worth?
First of all I do not like ANR headsets. Every time I tried a pair they squeaked and popped when I ate something on a long trip. I tried a David Clark head set with the after market ANR installed and they were so bad that I threw them out the Beaver window. If you want them they are somewhere around...

I am getting more reaction than I expected.I think a lot of members new my real name already.
My beaver bob name was started by a regular passenger about 15 years ago and, much to my displeasure, stuck to the point that when I got hired where I am now the CSA's new that but not my real name.

Hi Cat
A wheel landing straight down the middle of the runway. One of those Alberta single runway airports, and a long ways between fuel stops. I could guess that your reason was about the same. Oh, also, Crab untill close enough to lower the wing and check drift just befor touchdown.

Re: Arctic Air CBC tv show
I have only watched a part of one episode, but I think it will be a good series for basic entertainment. Considering it is fiction I think it will be a welcome relief from CSI this or CSI that and all the friggen nurse and Dr. shows. But what do I know? My favorite aviation show was "Airplane". :smt...
