Re: Turbofan Icing Protection?
On the JT15 engines installed on the Citation, after the bleed air passes through the inlet it is exhausted toward the fan blades. If you look inside the inlet you can see the ring of holes approximately 2 inches apart and 1/4 inch in diameter just in front of the fan blades. The engine nose cone is...

A fellow I knew operated a small float company and one summer he was transporting some student workers north to a fishing camp north of the NWT border. As the the flight progressed the volume in the plane got more and more out of hand. As he was flying he came up with a plan and it stopped the party...

Re: Alleged violation question
Hello, I had an alleged violation quite some time ago when I flew up north. It was regarding single engine operation carrying passengers at night. The RCMP at the village where I landed thought that I was landing after dark and asked to see my licence and registration. REALLY? I thought that they di...

[quote="xsbank"] I admit its fun for a few years but eating KD coz you like it? Good one. Malnutrition will make it harder for you to keep your medical, which as far as I can tell, most of us have a tenuous hold on anyway. The money sucks, you get to come home 'most' nights and you can afford a smal...

Re: Does anybody know much about West Wind Aviation???
I find it hilarious when people who haven't worked here at West Wind seem to know all about our operation. If our Company is so bad then why do people who have gone to Airline jobs return here after the grass stops looking so green. If our company is so bad to work for then why did the employees who...

Lights in the sky
While flying west bound the other night at FL 410, we spotted a light above us (approximately 30 degrees up) that tracked northbound and remained visible for about 10 to 15 seconds. Obviously a satellite, or so we thought. Approximately 9 minutes later and in the exact same spot, another light that ...

Re: Differences training between similar types vs initial co
Similar situation to yourself, I have a current C560 PPC/Type rating and TC made us do a whole initial groundschool, flight training and ride on a C550. Not to mention the 704 line indoc with a contract pilot. Our ops manager was unable to convince TC that a differences course should be allowed.

Re: Interpretation of On Call FLT HR Restriction 705 Ops
I disagree with your duty day starting as soon as the phone rings. This topic has come up a number of times at work and we can find no where in the CARs that explicitely says you start your duty day following a phone call. If you know where it is or can provide a link to it we would be pleased.

Re: How to start a union
Go to Labourwatch.ca for info on how unions get certified and also how to decertify a union. If you still want one then just pick one, any one and they will start thier strong arm tactics to get enough people signed up so that you won't get to have a vote. Being in the transport industry we fall in ...
