Re: Contacting ATC to Enter Class B above 12,500'

I Googled "Vancouver FIR Class B" as I was unfamiliar with where else to find this information. I thought I would post here before phoning FSS. I recognize that the link I provided does not constitute official information.

Thanks for your input, everyone

Contacting ATC to Enter Class B above 12,500'

I may have a requirement for an upcoming flight to contact ATC in the Golden BC area to enter Class B airspace. From what I've been able to scrounge up here http://www.ivao.ca/atc/czvr/acc it looks like I should be contacting Vancouver Centre in the Enderby sector on 134.55. Can anyone confirm that ...

Instrument Training - Detecting a Stall

I'm working towards my night rating with an instructor at the moment, and as part of it, I've been performing some simple straight ahead stalls while "under the hood." I admit I must have gotten rusty at performing stalls since completing my PPL, as I'm having some trouble detecting when the airplan...

Flight Crew Recency Requirements Self-Paced Study Program

I'm just finishing off the most recent self-paced study program published in last quarter's ASL. As per the instructions on the form itself, I intend to retain it among my records. One thing I'm not entirely clear on, however, is whether or not I need to make an associated entry in my log book stati...

Re: Night Ratings CARs Clarification

Yes, sorry, I was referring to the dual instrument time. So, that said, I should only need to do an additional 5 with the instructor. Any official-ish references that state this more explicitly?

Night Ratings CARs Clarification

Hello, I'd like to sort out a clarification on some information in the CARs. I'm currently working on a night rating to add to my PPL. I have the five hours required during the PPL training. What I'm trying to determine is whether those five hours will count towards the ten total required by TC as i...

Re: Aux. Fuel Transfer System

A quick Google of the STC number SA1614WE indicates that, yes, they are Flint tanks.

Aux. Fuel Transfer System

The club I belong to recently acquired a 172 with 12.5 gallon tip tanks and an auxiliary transfer system. Aside from the placard stating that the transfer process must be done in level flight with the tank being fed not feeding the engine, there doesn't appear to be much information on how the syste...

Re: Plane Crash near Nelson Bc ( CZNL )

It was the Trail Flying Club's plane. Pilot is alive, and they're still working on getting him out (I know him personally). Weather certainly wasn't ideal this afternoon. More to come.
