Yes you are missing something. If you took a minute to read the threads above you would notice the mention of fuel tax......It disappeared. The government guys, snorkle, snorkle, chuckle chuckle, took the tax money and ran. Then came up with this great user pay thing...and boneheads like you bought...

Yes you can do trips to florida and such, but as soon as you start planning to do one you'll realize very quickly it's much safer/cheaper/quicker to go commercially. I don't want to stomp on your idea of doing those trips, because a number of pilots do make these kind of trips, but it'd be a 4-12 ho...

Jaques Strappe's review was very good, i've got about 100 hours on a mirage and they were great for flying south. Buttonville to florida no problem. One thing i didn't like however but you get this with most singles (or twins as well) is that you couldn't fill the seats and get much fuel in either. ...

The instructor did not fly in actual IMC, so he cannot log actual instrument time. Clear as mud? Don't confuse "instrument - actual" with IFR. IFR is a a set of rules, which you can operate under in VMC conditions. You only log "instrument - actual" when the aircraft is in IMC wx conditions, which ...

correct me if i'm wrong but... Lets say you're going on a x-country flight with your student for hood time. you plan to fly from toronto to london, to hamilton back to toronto (2hrs lets say of hood flying for your student and a few approaches). now you file IFR to do this flight. Since you are pilo...

you're gonna have to work your arse off now more then anything, because come oct/nov/dec you're going to get a lot of weather cancellations which have to be taken into account. you'll probably get 75% less flights in those months as you would during the months between now and october. best thing i c...

Re: WWFC
The WWFC is a awesome facility, with top notch instructors and aircraft! Alright, now for an impartial oppinion. 25 year old cessna's with one radio and an ADF does NOT constitude "top notch aircraft" For the rest of you plugging the conestoga college course, realize his intentions are to send his ...

I took the aerocourse just over a year ago and all i can say is that it was great. However... don't go in there without a fairly good understanding of the material. The course is not designed to take you from not knowing anything about IFR to being a pro. The course goes very fast and you'll get los...

That's exactly why I chose History - well mentioned it - because I love it. If it's something you love, why not choose that as your career? I'm not trying to be a smart-ass here, but if it's something you enjoy and think you'll do well at, why not follow that path? If you do well at it.. fly for en...

I read through this thread, and I see a lot of good posts, however there are some sentiments, which are missed, or frowned upon. I do feel bad for whoever gets tossed aside so someone else can get hired, but there are factors that people don’t' consider. Employers MUST hire minorities in Canada, tha...

It's probably impossible to determine the altitude of the Jet. You could do it fairly easily if you can find the shadow. I couldn't, though. you're on crack. fairly easy? not only would you need to find the shadow, you'd then need to know exactly where the sun was when the picture was taken in rela...
