Re: YRL... cell phone??
The main benifit of telus is, I'm sure you will be leaving YRL at times. So when going to say, YWG there are no roaming charges like there will be when you try and use your TbayTel phone there.

Re: YRL... cell phone??
Telus works in all NW ontario towns that you'd most likely be flying to (YRL, YXL, YQK, YAG, YIB) and as long as you are on a contact there are no roaming charges. As far as long distance goes, if your in the city calling a local number it is not long distance. I have a blackberry and it works just ...

She's a Thompson Ten!
I used the search funtion but can't find it, there used to be a guide on here for comparing a girl from the north with one from the south. Something along the lines of deduct 1 for an FO, and .2 for every month spent in the north ect. I think it had the expression "She's a Thompson ten" in it. Any h...

Re: Sonic Blue report out.
We've been through this a million times before. But can someone please give me an example of a PC-12 engine failure. Not an engine shut down in flight but an acutal failure. Anyone?? Buler???? People need to stop lumping the -12 in with the 208. They aren't even close to similar machines (other than...

Re: YXU instructor
I had been told to try and find a good instructor, such as one who teaches topics while enroute to the training area Whoever told you that is very wrong. If I'm teaching you something new I want your attention and you to be able to take notes and ask questions, not focusing on keeping the blue side...

It's interesting to see the AvCanada results with the rest of Ontario. Seems as if those in flying world vote blue. But I am scared to think that if only 51% of Ontarians voted what the results could have been if everyone had voted. I'm not saying that the result would have been any diffrent, but at...

Re: CFL BLOWS
And I'm guessing that the NFL is a real league. It's so slow, I can't even watch it. Four tries to move the ball the same distance + a smaller feild = BORING!Bert and Ernie wrote:The CFL if minor league football and the league should fold!!
Way to go Milt, lets raise a Blue for him tonight.

I also got the letter yesterday and went down to the bank and paid it. It's not worth totally f-ing up my credit rating over $55. When I showed it to the bank lady she was VERY suprised about how it was written and the two (2) days notices I was given. Note I recieved the letter yesterday but it was...

The alchol on the breath question is a tough one. But one that you should have already asked yourself. If I met my captian and he smelt of booze I'd ask him. Bob I smell booze on you, have you been drinking? Who knows maybe he just used mouth wash or some bum spilt beer on him at the restruant - it ...

Godspeed Avro Arrow
This day in history:
February 20, 1959 the Diefenbaker led Fedreal Government cancled the CF-105 Avro Arrow.
Tonight lets all raise a glass and think about what could have been if the arrow program could have continued. Where would avation in Canada be?

I had a comm failure a couple of months ago. Was already in the zone comming in to land. My problem was odd, I could hear everything that was going on, but when I transmitted only my "carrier" was being heard, and I lost side tone when I PTT. Sure enough, I reached in my pocket grabed my phone and b...

XSBank had it right. TC, like most gov't departments is going to see a mass retirment in the next few years. They won't have enought people to enforce the rules that they already have. What do they do? Ah, pass the buck to the operators, and then after an accident go and investigate that. Everyone o...

Now here's an even better question for y'all. Everyone is so quick to critizie a pilot who doesn't do a walk around before he goes flying, but then these same people have no problem after a day of flying just hoping in thier cars and driving off. My question is this, how many of you actually walk ar...
